Lost friend from the past
I know the guy on the forum like a good story, so here goes.
30 years ago I was working in Kansas City at a IHOP as a mgr. It was a Friday about 1:30 am a cab driver came in with a young man about 17-18 years old from Africa. The cab driver said he had 20 bucks and a check for $8000.00 made out to Penn Valley College.Well it was summer and the college was close. Broken english with this guy and I ended up putting some food in him. I took him out to my car and he slept until I got off. I had a empty room in my house (I know I must be crazy to help this guy)
but there something about this kid. He ended up staying with me 4-5 years rent free. I never asked for rent and his father would write me tell me to watch over his son. I would tell this young man that all I know to do is work harder an any one esle and go to school and be the smartest SOB around. One thing lead to another and I gave the house back to the ex and my kid. He went his way and I went my way. Well fast forward 30 years. My daughter calls me and said this young man has been coming by the house for the last 2-3 years looking for me. Thanks to the ex for not passing this on to me. Well I got his number and I call. He tells me he is rich and very successful in life and all because of that one night I helped him. This guy has his law degree and CPA degree. Well I am doing a road trip in April or May for a visit and I guess I will see what life brings. I will be driving down in my C6.
I looked him up on the web and he is not lying. After the visit I will get some pictures for you guys.

Nice story, and very nice you of you taking him in, and set him on a path to success.

"In honor of jpee"
Some might even say, appropriate to read it here on this particular day...
Don't forget to post up the end of this story with pics including you, him and the C6. We luv pics. But "we" (maybe just me and the other posters on this thread) also like stories like this...kinda helps to restore one's faith in mankind.
