Default Hood Vent Install

In an ongoing effort to reduce coolant and oil temps I took a queue from CrowHater's old thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ter-death.html and installed some Mustang GT hood vents (although mine are carbon fiber) I got for ~$150. Came out pretty good I think and should help with underhood temps that the iron block and turbos generate. Cut the hood using a cutoff wheel (after quickly eating multiple jizsaw blades) and glued them down with a 2 part SMC epoxy from a paint supply shop.

Nice job but what about the water that will get down in the engine bay?

I run drag radials full time so I rarely get caught in the rain. Not too worried about it.

I really like that look. I had a Grand Prix GTP that had those, although they weren't functional. As for yours.....did you grimace when you started that first cut? Eeeeek!

It's amazing how affordable carbon fiber parts get when they don't include the Corvette tax.

I had originally ordered the fiberglass but was accidentally sent the carbon fiber ones.

Thanks. I wasn't too worried. If it didn't come out good it would have given me an excuse to buy a real vented hood.

How did you get the contours of the mustang hood vents to match the vette hood contours. Carbon Fiber is VERY stiff and does not like to flex.
