First road trip since buying the vette, went west on the 58 from Bakersfield to Morro Bay and it was really fun, some gnarly twisties. Active Handling chimed in a few times. Then took the 101 up to Santa Cruz, and Drove down the PCH the next day, took a few pics. All in all about 600 miles.
I must say though I saw literally dozens if not well over 50 '15 mustangs. Is there something about mustangs and PCH ? They all drove extra slow too! It was wicked fun passing them up.
You were in my neck of the woods (not far from Morro Bay ) . Hwy 58 can be very fun for a Corvette drive, not too much traffic like Hwy 1 . I think the Mustangs you saw are all rentals from the LA area . we always see a lot of them going up to monterey . Glad you enjoyed your car and the scenery and passing Mustangs ! We just got a C6 Grand Sport 3 months ago and love it !

The Mustang rentals makes sense. Grats on your Grand Sport!
It indeed was a great trip, thanks everyone! I took some Go Pro Footage, but it might be a while before I can get to it.
Also, we took the 17 mile drive, which was absolutely wicked.
If I were to start in the San Diego area and wanted to drive the most beautiful parts on the PCH, where are those areas located? What are the places to avoid because of the lack of nice scenery or the scenery just isn't worth it because of too much stop/go or heavy traffic?
From what I gather, to travel the PCH is rather slow going compared to the interstates. Is it one small town after another with traffic lights? What is the average speed limit?
How about road conditions? Rough, smooth? How about north of San Francisco? Is it worth driving?
I'm planning a trip from central Texas, out to CA and up the west coast to WA, then over to Glacier National Park and back to Texas.

PCH from San Diego north is all stop and go with a lot of traffic. It does not get better until north of LA county. The roads are fine and the scenery is great. Driving thru all of our beach communities is just a slow ride. North of LA is spectacular. U.S. 101 north (after you get out of the LA basin) is also a great drive for our cars. We go from SoCal to just south of San Francisco several times each year to visit my daughter. Get north of LA county and hwy 1 (PCH) or 101 are excellent drives with plenty to see and do. I have been using this coast daily for over 40 years. If you need specifics, pm me and I will help with answers and suggestions.

It's definitely slower than the interstates, which tend to be straight lines. the PCH has quite a bit of twists and turns and elevation changes. That's the reason why the average speed is slow. I think there was like one traffic light due to some construction going on. The road conditions were actually very good. If you look at a map of the highway you can see where the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) follows the coastline and where it is more inland. You can plan your trip that way, that's what I did.
Looks like a great time. I did a trip down the coast many years ago, what a spectacular drive, really look forward to doing it again. Hopefully I'll get down there in a Vette.
Highway 1 above SF is some of the most scenic and un crowded...follows the coast up to 101, then cuts over to 101 and north takes you thru the redwood empire... Avenue of the giants (254) runs parallel to 101 thru Humboldt state park... if you get up that far...just beautiful..

Great pics Sounds like you had a great trip. I drove the PCH when I drove from WA to San Diego. I stayed on the PCH until San Luis Obispo then hoped onto the 101 thru LA then onto the 5. The part of the PCH I was on was fantastic.
