Default Arm rests keep falling off

I like the way these leather covered arm rests look and feel, but the sticky tape does a poor job of keeping them on the door. Has anyone else had this issue? I thought about trying a wide piece of velcro.

Those are aftermarket and the key to making them stick is how well the area was prepped.

I have a set from DSVettes that I got through nakidparts. They are secured to the arm-rest with a large Velcro strip so its removable also. Use an alcohol pad on the area its to be attached to to get it clean and ready for attachment.

I followed the directions and cleaned them twice with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, per instructions. I am going to get some Velcro this week and try that.

Could it be that the tucks in the upholstery are too thick and keeping the tape from making full contact? Try a double layer of tape, maybe and see what happens. 3M makes some good double sided tape.
