So I caved and shot a 6 pointer last night. Grunted him in. He came in running, and looking for a fight. Running around like a madman, in and out of the field, back into the woods, never stopping. I kinda got caught up in the moment, and he just tempted me too long. Oh well, there's lots of bow season left to try for a big one. Got several people who have said they would take a doe if I get a chance.
For the record, it was 14 degrees yesterday morning, and somewhat breezy. I was glad I picked up some toe warmers and handwarmers!

looks like Hamburgers.......on the grill.......wish it was steaks......... Big 10-4 on the Veterans Day.......thank you so much to all who served and protected...... I and my family appreciate it.....
Was out running errands in Lil Red our 99 Cheby Stepside.....and the brake pedal has been kinda mushy but today it went to the floor.......so I was close to the repair facility that we frequent and just dropped it off locked it up and walked home. Took me 40 minutes.......hey hey......it was like 4 blocks....geez....... I thought that was a good time....... really it may be like 2.5 miles down there..... Wife is in the Star City today so had to hoof it........ glad I still can.
Knew a pair of twins years ago that were identical.....used to ride Harley's with them......they worked together their whole lives. They lived hard though....both had to dry out on several occasions....numerous marriages each......had a damn good construction business though.... One brother passed away a little over two weeks ago and actually shot himself.........and now I heard the other brother died of a heart attack on Friday....... somehow it just seems like thats the way it was going to go........ Strange thing was the brother that passed away on Friday had called me out of the blue about a month or so back. He had got my number from another old Harley rider we used to hang with..... it had been 35 years since I had talked to him......we just chatted and caught up a bit. Talked about getting together next summer......he wanted to know it I had any pics of his old Panhead Chopper that he built..... I did not..... and after awhile that was it. Now I'm glad we had that chat........
more later from the land of infinite corn.......

Maybe he was thinking like this...for you and your friends...and all those we have.
And for some of those good old days you like to remember. Most of us had 'em.

Had some good news from my cousins in Calif. They talked to the owner of the place that had their RV stored, he told them that he was able to find a place for it out in the middle of a dirt patch away from any flammable materials and it has survived. Now they are hoping for good news about their house. They have confirmed that houses two blocks away have been lost......

Well I am now driving a Grand Cherokee till my sleek base is fixed. Nice comfy ride, but a gutless wonder for sure. Gonna take a little while to get used to the big *** thing after driving Corvettes every day since 2004. Miss it already.

It's not even the middle of November and I've already heard the S-word real often and the C-word too. It sends chills to my bones that sometimes forces me to go outside and stand in the sunlight to get warmed up again.
