The new racing season is right around the corner (as racers tell time). And some of the early races are Dayton and Sebring. Just a thought.

Shao, I don't have the words but, what happened in WWII with the camps was wrong. I wish I knew what people in high places were thinking but, as usual, we never got the true story.

Scott
Said C8R so it is highly likely they are race versions. Which makes me think more and more that it may not even be a standard production corvette anymore and will be a flagship offering like the Ford GT. But who knows.

The people in high places were thinking what they still are. It's all about money, power and control. The toxic illogical mass agenda today is playing out exactly how it has in the past with Jewish, Italian and Japanese citizens.

At the top is comes down to what it always has, money. We absolutely should be concerned with taking care of our deficits and that starts with auditing the Fed(however ending the war on drugs would be an equally good start). This isn't even a strictly Trump thing, it's a revolving shitstorm of stuff that's been happening for over a hundred years.

We must remember history or be doomed to repeat it.

We are happy that "our" `56 went to the people it did, someone who will enjoy it as it was meant to be.

When we sold you the car, we didn't know at the time that selling two to buy one was in the future. Selling the `10 Grand Sport was a tough decision for me. Now the toughest part of that decision is not getting to drive the new Grand Sport often enough!! (For those still on the fence about buying a C7, don't drive one because you will buy it!) We're up to 143 miles so far! But this is still the only view I get to regularly see.

Raining like a cow peein' on a flat rock today.

The Sunday Commentary to the huddled masses...........

Personally, I love money......I love the way it looks and I love the way a crisp C note sounds when you fold it....... I also like the way it smells.......mmmmm......smell that, it's fresh money.......... I believe that puts me in the category of being a capitalistic pig........ of which I am very proud of...... I also realize that it is a necessary evil and there are things I won't do for money......I'm trying to think of some examples right now but I'm sure they have to do with weird sex...... I do not have a lot of money because the gubernment has taken a lot of it from me in the form of taxes. Taxes which are high due to the ineptness and stupidity of the Feds over the last 50 years. Right now the 10's of thousands of dollars I pay in goes into a dark whole never to be seen again because it is never enough to break the government even. Most of it is going to pay the interest on the national debt. I want to be able to designate where the money goes. So much for defense so much for infrastructure and a lot to keep the farmers from going under and thus protect my *** and my job.....

Yeah we are all tied to the tit somehow. Hey hey don't forget my social security check every month.....but hell I at least put money into it for 50 years.

My new line of thinking is that if you have the power over the fake money we use that means there must be economic rules that we don't know about since we can't print money or borrow a ton from China to keep food on the table. It is a non sustaining way to do business and somewhere down the road its going to come to a crashing halt. What can we do in the face of this impending catastrophe ?

Well we can hope we don't live long enough to see it happen. But that leaves the kids to deal with it. I hate to do that because its the boomers who thunk this mess up. I think it started in 64 with the Great Society that was going to put an end to poverty. Even the Lord knew that would never happen when He said, The poor you will always have with you. Meaning this is the way of the world so don't try to fix it. I am an equal opportunity blamer....... Democrats or Republicans only want to get reelected and the way to do that is fry up some fresh pork for the constituents. Might as well throw in some cornbread also.....

So back to what we can do. We can try for a booming economy and get lots of taxes coming in. We need to raise taxes to about 50% of everyones income. We need to let at least 2/3'rds of the government employees to go home and not come back. We need to sharply curtail spending to just what is important. We have a good economy right now which means a lot of folks are spending money they do not have and getting further into debt doing their share to save America.... God love them but that just isn't the way either....... so what the hell? What can we do to save our asses?

Nothing....... because you see, someone has figured it out that the foundational rules of economics must not apply to a Power that can control the money and print it and tell us what it's worth. That Power would be......The Fed.

What me worry? I feel safe at night the brilliant folks at the Fed have this all figured out..... So don't worry, be happy......it will all work out, right? Right? Can sumbody give me an Amen here? Somebody? Anybody?

Meanwhile I will continue to buy a little gold and silver and lead....lots of lead....just in case those brainiacs at the Fed don't have it figured out.... can I get a 10-4 on that Road Ranger.....? Catch you on the flip flop.... we gone.......

AMEN! The only difference I see now is the battle is between the Socialist (formerly Demo's) and the Capitalists. It's all about the Power to tell people how to live, or let them make their own way with a little help when they really need it. I always figured if Christ couldn't solve the problem, we are in constant trouble with mere mortals trying out for the job. . Seems there will always be those that Do...and those that want to take what they do because they can't, and use it for their power over others.

Rocket man, thanks for the video. From the look of the taillights, they make it look wicked IMO...much better.

Duckvette, even with a "Old" Baser I feel your pain. That is one Great Looking Vette...where's your bed in the garage for now? Guess you should have headed South this year for a change.

Amen, brother.
The situation is the same with Arabic and Mexican citizens as it was with Italians, Japanese and Jews. There's a clear current bias that is very much baseless to anything specific to their race. Openly voiced racism by the president (or anyone in power) is no different than how it was in the early 1900's when anti Jewish/Japanese/Italian publications were being freely distributed. Oddly enough when my family(name) emigrated from Germany to escape the war and being associated with it they faced almost none of the backlash my Grandpa faced emigrating from Sicily. This could be the difference between the first and second world wars, but I doubt it. The decades before WW2 was what set the tone for the consensus of the war and many American citizens agreed with the treatment of the Jews unfortunately. Then there were African Americans, etc. Xenophobic views can easily be killed by thoughtful traveling and not just "hey look where I went" IMO

Exacrly, I agree, but with a caveat. Part of the problem is, Christ to you, which is Allah to the next, or Buddah, Shiva, Athena, etc etc. The founding fathers wanted all religious influences taken from our laws. Aka E Pluribus Unum. "Morality" is relative and not universal.

There is waaaaay too much "you should be doing so and so" going on. Let's keep it simple, if it doesn't hurt anyone but yourself then everyone can **** off. It wasn't all that long ago you could be arrested for saying **** in public, blasphemy(Ray Charles deciding to sing hymnal music his way, or openly using the lords name in vein) or band on birth control, etc.

Just because I'm lifetime sober doesn't mean I want alcohol, drugs or tobacco banned, etc. Your body, do you.

Since I spent a good chunk of change on plane tickets and need to finish out the rest of the trip. The full on Mad Max rally build on the RX7 has changed to super simple. Get it running, dump exhaust off the sides and call it a day. I want it done and out of here.

Hey, hammers, gather round...today is National Lager Day! No, basers, it has nothing to do with chainsaws and wood chips. It has everything to do with beer! So, in celebration, I have ordered in a truck load of Dos Equis lager. We will be selling it at the ridiculously low price of $8.25/bottle or two for twenty bucks. Come and get 'em, boys and girls...
