C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I think they have no choice if they want to remain competitive. Hope they keep the front eng layout also or no more new Vettes for me. Can't see the C8 surviving if only mid eng.
Oh well, it is what it is, at least Mazda is staying true to it's roots.....

I thought I heard they were brining out a mid engined Miata.......its call the Fiero, which means Impotent in some other languages....... look for 0-60 times in the 30 second range which will be better then the existing Meeaaataaa. More on this as it develops.
As I have stated before the Boomers are fading away and will no longer be a marketing force in 10 or so years. The new generations are where Chevy is aiming the new Corvette and they must have done their homework before the spent all that money, right? mmmm maybe..... we will see......
gotta go work now. Try to stay out of trouble today Hamms........ Hostess Twinkies and HoHo's are on the buffet table..... come and get them.

ROOTS? No wonder they are on the slow side of molasses. It takes a big chunk of H.P. just to pull up them ROOTS before they can get moving.

I wonder how many young people they will pull in? Heck they can't afford a C7 now and most don't care about cars anyway.
I saw a post on Jalopnik from a staff person about driving modern cars. He stated he just came back to driving after a 10 year absence. Quickly skipped that article.

all i can or will say related to the current situation of the automotive industry is:
1.) Millenials are the instant gratification society, and think that fresh out of school they have the knowledge and experience to lead. Also most did not go to school to get their hands dirty.
2.) Millenials would be classified as "empty suits" in today's real business world.
3.) All companies are in business for profits, whether they have too many employees, unwanted products, or under utilized resources, they need to adjust whatever is required to stay profitable.
4.) American OEM's killing off cars, concentrating on SUV's / CUV's and trucks. "Cash Cows" and no foreign manufacturer makes a truck which can compete with the Americans when they are actually used for design intent purposes.
5.) The LARGEST emerging or growing car market is CHINA!!! GM will be bringing new models, but EV applications to the market, and CHINA has passed laws making the internal combustion engine an unwanted power source. (1 + 1 = 2 for those who can't figure it out.)
6.) With the emerging EV technology, the internal combustion engine will still be used as a power source until the 2035 time period. Not going away immediately or anytime soon.
7.) Current low gas prices are also a "cyclical" phenomenon and will not be here until the EV's arrive.
8.) Foreign manufacturers were able to produce "small cars" and make a profit, and that is another reason the American OEM's left that marketplace. Labor and material costs as well as lack of demand have made them more a liability for the American's than they could handle while needing additional capital and resources to develop the vehicles of tomorrow.
9.) C8 delay not because of profits, losses, plant closures, etc. but due to another reason known to only those who need to work on resolution.
The new Mazda and C7 were home runs, and a profitable lesson that some OEM's have learned from, while others are still playing "catch-up' with the rest of their product lines.

I used a kit from Crazy Cowboy. It does help with heat and noise. Before installing the kit my right leg would get very hot on long trips due to the heat from the long tube headers. That does not happen now.
Crazy Cowboy kit is pre cut but not labeled. So it is a guessing game as to where each piece goes. I got everything covered but am certain I did not put them in the optimal way. Did the entire car.....driver and passenger cabin, tunnel plate, rear wall, hatch area, b pillar and door panels. I doubled up on the rear wheel well area.
That kit looks easier to install.

Regardless, cutting your own kit out of the aluminum foil covered bubble wrap is actually easier than trying to piece together and glue/tape a pre-cut batch of parts.

I used the Crazy Cowboy kit too and decided to write my own instructions with pics etc. I told them what I had done and would sell them the whole package for the same price they charged for the kit, but got no reply. Crappy instructions is probably the reason like the VetteNuts kit better.
