I am sure someone from here must have communicated with him outside the Forum, i.e., someone would probably have his phone number? Just a thought...

Because unless I missed something (happens all the time by the way), this all started because nobody could find his obituary. My mother in law just passed last year and we did not write an obituary. It does not mean the person did not die. A few odd PM's? Did anybody get one from Hammy after Hammy passed?
My problem is that all of this speculation is assuming Hammy or somebody else has a VERY sick idea of humor.

Rest in Peace Hameister.

That's interesting, I was under the impression obits were pretty much standard procedure.

Thanks for that info.

We were so distraught that after setting up the funeral and writing the eulogy, the obituary just never got written. The people at the funeral home gave us a form to fill out but we just did not get to it.

sorry guy's, i want some kind of closure so i can go on with things the way they were. call me paranoid i don't care. i find it all to strange making no sense at all. the person posting up his demise not even explaining their relationship to David. what if i want to send flowers or make some kind of donation to his favorite charity? nothing.

Of course we all would like closure, to be sure, but Hameister posted an average of over 6.5 posts per day, even while on vacation, so if he hasn't posted since Jan 4, 9:07 PM, that would not be at all like him.
Heart felt Condolences to his family
RIP David

Billy, I understand. Many of us here though we had never met David felt like he was our friend. But I think Paul is right here. If this was a scam, David would be here making fun of the whole situation.

He certainly will be missed. RIP Hammy, we'll see you on the other side.

Lots of families forego the traditional newspaper obituary. Nobody reads them anymore, and the obits are not cheap, so if the funeral home and his name are not known.... Don't think his roots were in Fla. so the service may be elsewhere. Died unexpectedly. Plus wasn't his wife South American or something? Send a PM to his handle and hope someone gets back eventually.

Personally I think this CSI stuff is a bit silly, but I noticed someone on the C7 forum named The Director posted he recently had lunch with David and his wife. Perhsps he might have some info . . .

Check the other Thread.
David's Grandson just posted this:

Step Son
Yes David had everything written down for my mother but also saved on the computer so it was a matter of a few clicks to get on here. My mother wanted me to make to let everyone know how much joy this forum brought him. He would always talk about the different conversations you guys had. He would also bring you guys up when him and I would go out to lunch. I happen to take the picture of his "perfect spot" that appeared in an article.

I also want everyone to know that my mother spent all morning reading all of your posts. She is very grateful for everyone's condolences and responses. Thank you everyone

As much as some of us were grasping at straws that this whole thing was something other than it appeared, it looks like David really is gone.

I remember the "perfect parking spot" thread well.

I happened to get on line while his step son was on line, cant explain the feeling when I saw Davids avatar with the green light on showing he was on line.

Well, no doubt David was getting a good laugh out of us watching from above. Godspeed my friend....
