damn I must be getting old........... had that backwards..................... Avis would be representative of me........................
Hoxxy, saw a couple of topics on halfshafts you were involved in............
just a FYI............. when they are designed, tested, validated they do have "fuses" in the design to allow fracture due to overloaded conditions without damaging major driveline components........................
typically a smaller diameter area, machined surface in close proximity............ and then you also may get an outlier which has a material defect and fractures in another unplanned or designed for location..............
the one picture with the clamp on brackets to prevent them from bouncing around looked like it was the best for how these parts are designed and function.................
can provide more info. if needed.............. just would need to do that via email for confidentiality reasons................ just realize they are tested with over 1000 foot pounds of rotational force with one end held stationary during development without fracturing occurring on a regular basis

I'm going to take 1/4 x 1 plastic bar and form it for the axle loops.
The rules don't specify material, just size, so I'll make it lightweight.

I'm 58 but told all the time that I look to be mid 40's. Married 32.5 years so I'll probably stay satisfied with my current situation.

You can get away with groping as long as you drool, slur speech, appear to lose balance, and have half your flowered t-shirt tucked in your two-sizes-too-big brown dress slacks.

finally was able to see the previously posted pictures from H1.................. my initial thoughts were he must have fallen out of his barcalounger and bumped his head............
knowing that the North American International Auto Show is arriving shortly here in the Motor City............... there always seems to be much discussion about the latest and greatest upcoming models............ since the base camp also is represented here in the Motor City......... rather than whip up a new model that may or may not reach production............ the following baser models will be on display.................
saw H1's pedal bus and just shook my head in disbelief........... if that was the best thing the GS'ers could come up with......... wonder what they will think of the baser camp bus......
fast, sleek and narrow........ quite unlike the widebodied pedal version developed out in the corn fields of mid America...........
and then to help any baser transport any items they need to be moved.............. a restoration on an old Peterbilt was completed in the alley behind the hovel...........
kinda puts all others to shame............................ rented it to Reliable Carriers here in MI for use as a promotion vehicle to get more funds for the lower level tavern..................

So...I'm at the local watering hole quaffing a (ok, many) Blue Moon when a couple walk by the table. My bleary, blood-shot eyes notice he is wearing a Corvette shirt. Hey, I ask, what do you drive? His reply..."I have a 2014 Corvette, the first of that style...and I'm from Nebraska". Well, flop house mouse, am I impressed...
But, I have to ask...was that a relative of yours H1?

I thought I just saw something on the news about a 95 year old man getting harassed for supposedly groping his nursing home help.......................
at 95 he could claim dementia and just about get away with anything...............
maybe one of the OLDER GS'ers like Ruxxy or H1 could provide additional details................... just askin'............
