2016 C6 of Year Finalist
As some of you know there was a family issue that necessitated a trip from AZ to WA. I finished my business and, because I inherited a dog, I rented a car and made my return to AZ. The car was a VW Jetta and, even though it was a BAC (bare *** car) I was kinda impressed. Never popped the hood so don't know if it was a 4 or 6, turbo or not, but the acceleration was impressive. Plus, after long stretches (hundreds of miles) of cruising above 80 with passing hitting 100, the darn thing returned 42mpg overall!
Anyone ever drive one?

neighbors' son who is my age, worked at VW for 20 years prior to spending his last 18 at GM.......... buyout, and economic reasons, but still drives VW's to this day............. all Jettas' are I-4 cylinders, some turbocharged and I believe they may have a non turbo version (?)....... so been in them as a passenger, and drove both a Jetta and Golf and GTI more than once................... easy description of why they work like they do would be GERMAN ENGINEERING............ they seem to use the KISS method, and ensure that all things mechanically function as they should............too bad they got caught up in the emissions for diesels................but the gas powered ones mechanically are at the top of their class............... often imitated, not quite duplicated.......
by the way...............once you finish licking off your chocolate covered baser girl, return her to the hovel.............

thanks for stopping back in Mickey!
long time, no see............................
but I do remember that you worked at the PBR brewing place........
so rather than give you a free sample that you may have already tasted, try this one out today...............
taken straight from the GS'er lounge.....................
seems them widebodied boys been sleeping for a few days now..............
Just realized it was your post that I clipped the 'to do' list from. I had just sent it to a friend that's retiring in May. He got a real kick out of it, thanks!

at work, otherwise I would give you a PBR.........
that is saved on my home computer......
that list is a great thing for those fortunate enough to be "off the job" and "too busy for work" any longer.............

I spray painted a friend of mine's GS wheels (barrels only)a few months ago. Took almost 2 hours each wheel. Cleaned the barrels, masked off the part I didn't want painted (time consuming) spray painted with matte black spray paint ($3 a can). 2 coats each wheel. They looked great and made the chrome really shine. He loves them.

We bought both my son and daughter Jetta's when they went off to college and we were impressed with both cars. They got good mileage and were trouble free. I tried to get my wife to consider either a Volkwagen CC or the model just above the Jetta with a V6 and it was "Nothing Doing". She wasn't going to drive a VW!

Yeah I should've been more patient and powder coated them.
I think this is what I will do for now.
I am a automotive technician by trade. The VW's and Audi's are getting better but I have def. seen some horror stories with them. I would not recommend keeping one after the warranty expires. Just my .02

I've had a couple of Audi's in the past and I was sure that Audi meant "Broken" in German!
