Nice 56! I actually had one just like it back in the day, even the same color combo. Well, mine had a six in it and I used it for parts on my 2 door post Bel Aire. I retrospect, I should have used the wagon and junked the Bel Aire as the wagon was nearly rust free.
I'd gladly come build you a bar for either one.

Thanks for the trade offers (and compliments) guys, but maybe I'll just extend the back wall of the garage.
We have owned the `56 wagon for 21 years and rebuilt or replaced just about everything but the body.

Looooove that 56.....I need one of those for the wife......very nice! Rained here last night.....very nice also..... Nice set up GeeI'm23.......I'm thinking that is a popular place on the weekends.....as long as the keg holds out anyway.... very cool!
I have to work on trucks today.....new shocks on Lola....and some stuff to Layla also....
Took Layla on a 700 mile run the other day. Lots of power from the 525 hp Kitty Cat engine....It needs a few things but I'm happy with the truck.....stopped in to see Tee Bee out in Western Kansas and they took me to supper. Got the tour of his place including his cabinet making shop.....very very nice! He is a master craftsman that can build anything made out of wood... We have a lot of his work in our home. ...and they have a great Corvette also....
Have not done much with the GS....it is outside with the car cover on it while the shop is being used for wedding preparations........I know right? what is up with that...... I am assured that all will be back to normal someday...... hmmm.......
Gotta go now.......but I will be back later.......it's beer and bacon weekend at Hammy's....

Someone needs to roll out a bacon flavored beer. Maybe bring back the Falstaff name with it!

OK, maybe I should consider some of those trade offers after all.
Sad update - I wrecked the `56 today.
The throttle was acting "sticky" this morning on the way to a local show, but I figured I would fix it when we got home. Well....we got home, moved my pickup out of the driveway, started the `56 and as I turned to enter our driveway, the throttle stuck probably half-throttle. I locked up the front brakes, but it just kept going. I had to make a split-second decision ti hit my wife's Cadillac SRX (which probably would have hit the garage door and Corvette behind it) or the concrete stairs. I chose the stairs. Dead-centered the stairs which took out the bumper, grille, radiator, fan and front crossmember, frame is bent and possible damage to lower pulley. Not a good day.

that really sucks................................... knowing from the photos you have posted here, and how much you really enjoyed and took pride in the '56 makes it that much sadder to hear this news.............
hoping that it all works out in the end, and hopefully insurance will be fair in assessment and coverage.............

Thanks guys, your words mean a great deal. I'm lucky this didn't happen on a crowded street or worse yet, at the show with hundreds of other classic cars. It will be in the hands of professionals soon to assess and repair.

Oh no! Not the '56. That was so cool.
Hoping it'll get put back together as good as before.

Jrosey you got that meter from Mrs BSGS didn't you? I guess she no longer needed it as it had been years since it registered anything but 100% bullchit.

Ouch Ducky! Sorry to hear about the 56 but like you mentioned, better the steps at your place than a crowded sidewalk or something along those lines.
