I finally repaired the blower drive. Used an old BMX bike peg with a copper flux fitting hammered into place as the friction insert and cut the excess off then welded the mount bracket on.

Then discovered my mix of 60s and 80s SBF parts is going to need a custom serpentine setup to work with the 60s blower configuration, unless I get lucky and find a factory serpentine crank pulley that is 2" longer than standard

I am not sure if this is factory though, I know my C5 didn't have anything like this though.
The inner part (next to the tunnel) of that looks like the pad GM starting using on the '08's, but the part next to the carpet wasn't on my car. You'll either have to pull out another panel someplace to see if a previous owner added something all over, or just glue the whole thing back in place. I used a kit from ExoticVette in FL on mine, but just went to Home Depot for the insulation for the other 3 I did.

I used some 3M 90 tacky spray to hold stuff in place and 2" wide aluminum tape at the seams.
It'll be enough to do your whole car under the carpet. You'll definitely notice the sound and heat difference.

Little confused, the padding doesn't look factory but the butyle layer does? I would have thought it the other way around. Had a bit of rain here so as soon as it clears up I'll poke around more

thought that this picture may be the appropriate response for a few MANY of the topics here in the C6 General area...……………..

seems that a lot of the "newbies" have attitude problems, where they feel they know it all, yet make topics or replies which show otherwise...………..

and a few of the "older" forum members are pretty good at not knowing when to let things go...…………..

How Adam Got Eve

Nothing like a good Bible story to make your day.

Adam was hanging around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely.

So, God asked him, "What's wrong with you?"

Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to.

God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman.
He said, "This pretty lady will gather food for you, she will cook for you, and when you discover clothing, she will wash it for you."

She will always agree with every decision you make and she will not nag you, and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement.

"She will praise you!"

She will bear your children, and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them.

"She will NEVER have a headache and will freely give you love and passion whenever you need it."

Adam asked God, "What will a woman like this cost?"

God replied, "An arm and a leg."

Then Adam asked, "What can I get for just a rib?"

We either need to build the wall or take over Mexico and turn it into something decent........ stupid Dems.....left wing pinko commies....... 5.7 billion is a drop in the bucket compared to the money those idiots go through......

I see they are worried about C7 sales dropping....I'm not worried about it......all this C8 talk is bound to have some folks waiting.....

Got a daughter working over in India right now.......she says everyone honks their car horns all the time.......
