Sooo...the LSDHL took her heathen husband (me) to San Martin de Porres Catholic Parrish for a play. The church is a small, out of the way (the Parrish in the field) parrish predominantly Hispanic. The play tonight was "Rise Again, His Last Days", a musical performed mostly by parishoners. I was very impressed by the acting/singing in the performance. I was absolutely stunned by the story told. A real eye-opener.
Enough said.

Nice story Ruxxy, thanks for sharing. Sometimes something hits you like that. Bet the Mrs loved you went with her and enjoyed it with you.

Yes, she really did. It'll be 53 years Tuesday. I've learned when to say yes.

Well, hammertoes, it looks like meeeattaaa boy may have been ahead of his time:
Miata is introducing a new Skyactive-X motor that will run without spark plugs. It is the Homogeneous Charge Combustion Ignition Engine (HCCI). Compression will be like a diesel at about 18:1 and the gas/air mix will explode on it's own without sparkplugs. (Hell, the ol' 265" in my '50 Chebby would do that when the timing was off...blow out the breather, start a fire in the carb, lift the heads...but I spose they got a handle on that.) The 2.0 liter rice cooker will improve from 155HP to 188HP due to HCCI technology.
Hmmm, 6.0 liter would make 564HP??? Make that leetle meeeattaaa fly...

didn't we used to call no spark plugs engine a Cummins N14 or a Cat 3406? Hell that Meeeaaataaaball is about the same size as those engines.....

You know........ I hope all those C8 that been running around are like something they made up to fool us and when they unveil them for real it will be some sleek looking killer that I just drop my jaw and say....... dude, I gots to have me one of dem........ if not ...... Cheby may be in for a short C8 and onto the C9......yay yay..... do not think much of the look now but its still in camo........ somebody on the C8 forum said that Cheby already screwed up the new pickup so is thinking this will be headed in the same direction...... we will know when we know....

Congrats on your 53 years of marital bliss Ruxy...... you must have had to pay a huge....uh.....dowry to attract someone like the lovely Mrs. Ruxy...... and then keep paying.... and I thought you were only 60 years old so how does that work? You must be from the old country......arranged marriages....

Well they had 85,000 turn out for the spring Husker football game or scrimmage...... I was not one of them..... I was engaged in capitalistic pursuits..... working for the almighty dollar.....trying to keep the wolf away from the door....... working to pay my taxes so I can still get my Social Security check every month...... which reminds my.....all of you need to get back to work to help support me in my old age...... which will be soon....... real soon.......

Respectfully yours, H1

Wonder how they control ignition timing and knock?
Must be some serious magic .

I had a old GM that would run like that every time I turned the key off.

Who said 53 years of marital bliss? More like 53 years of being shackled. Marital bliss? About 18 months.
Plus, she has my ***** in her purse. How blissful is that?

spent the better part of today participating in the Michigan State Polish Bowling Association annual tournament...……………

I have bowled for a long time, and this was the first time in about 15 years I decided to enter a large scale event with some other guys from here...……….

today was singles and doubles, so 6 games total with the bowling establishment having 80 lanes, and typically 4 or 5 per lane...…….. you alternate lanes each frame for those who don't bowl or know...…..

started at 10, and over a little after 3...…………….. have team event, same location tomorrow morning...……………..

myself I averaged 220 for the first three game set, second high score on the pair of lanes we were on, and 209 for the last three game set...…………

seemed there was much beer, pierogis, and kielbasa consumed today...……………….

Sounds like you missed your Pro calling! I haven't bowled league in years, and thought I was doing OK when I averaged 204 my last year.

BadAV the game has changed a lot with the "modern" bowling ***** compared to those rubber or plastic ***** of the past...…………. the great thing is the conditions here were heavy lane conditioner applied at a length of 45 feet, so accuracy of hitting your mark was key...…………….. just like the "old days"...….

seen a bunch of younger people try to throw it very hard with a lot of revolutions by standing left and throwing it right, and the volume and length of the conditioner just kept it going right and missing the headpin...……..

sometimes being old and experienced does pay dividends...………….
