Default I !didn't know that

The center brake light flashed 5 times when brakes are applied.Only noticed this the other day when following my wife. Nice safety feature GM.

I'm thinking more like nice add-on, previous owner.

add-on module

oh and a jeep had one of those in front of me the other day, I found it to be really annoying as he was on the off ramp in front of me, tapping the brakes and it flashing me like that continuously. I guess at a stop light it would be ok.

Previous owner mod. I also seem to recall those violate federal law. Yep, illegal - http://regulations.justia.com/regula.../05-10136.html

I don't like the flashing center light. I've seen it on other cars (mostly Hondas) and find it distracting. Hopefully it's never a factory "feature".

Wow. If that was the only Fed law being broken we'd be in worse shape than we are.

Rank that one high on the list of 'worthless but really annoying' mods.

I added this to my gold Wing motorcycle to get the attention of all the jerks on the phone/texters and those that just aim the car rather than drive it!

None of you haters would like driving F1 with their big flashing rear lights that blink a lot more than 5 times. The Corvette can out brake 99% or the cars on the road so the extra notice is not a bad idea if it prevents a rear end accident.

Actually it did not flash but pulsed. There is a difference between flashing and pulsing. Flashing causes the light to go off and on and is illegal. Pulsing does not turn the lights off but makes them go bright to dim and back to bright. On some motorcycles the owner has installed a pulsing Headlight. Although flashing headlights are illegal, pulsing headlights are legal but only during daylight hours. There is a sensor to turn them off at night.
i have the brake pulser on my Grand Sport. It only pulses 5 times and will not pulse again unless the brakes have not been applied before 15 seconds have passed. The keeps from annoying the cars behind in stop and go traffic. With the low profile of the Corvette, I think it is easy for the car behind to look over the Corvette.

I had rather have an annoyed driver behind me griping about a flashing light as a sleepy, texting driver not aware of anything. At least the annoyed driver has seen me.
I have one on my Goldwing.

I had one on my Goldwing also. Put 66,000 miles on it in 5 and 1/2 years. Sold it in Aug of 2012 and got back into Corvettes. Had them both on my C5 and now both ,stop and turn, on my C6.

Had the pulse on my HD. Put Eagle Eye LEDs on the vette. Even tinted they are much brighter than stock.

Pulsing, flashing; they're both annoying. I hate following idiots that drive with both feet and are constantly flashing their brake lights but not braking. They get their just deserts, however, when they have to pay for brake jobs and transmission failure that their bad habits cause.

It would confuse me as what is going on and thus be distracting.

Left footed braking = dangerous driving. I've got a friend who does it and it drives me nuts, especially if I'm in the car with him, and it's really annoying to the drivers behind him ... can't tell when he's braking or not.
