Default P0449

Hello all

So while driving home yesterday I noticed my CEL come on. I went to Autozone and used an OBD scanner and found code P0449 or Evap vent solinoid was faulty. Checked fuse, it was good. So my next step, according to multiple forums I have read is to check for 12 volts at the solinoid underneath the car by the passenger firewall area.

So my question is, does anyone have pictures of this solinoid and its location? Has anyone replaced it that could give me some pointers?

Thanks in advance
Tyler

Thanks a bunch for the reply. But from my understanding is that there is a "fuel vent solinoid" and an "evap vent solinoid." The one that is being replaced in that thread appears to be the fuel vent solinoid as it is closer to the gas tank.

I believe the one I am looking for is more towards the front of the vehicle underneath the passenger firewall. I am not throwing a P0455 code as he is. I am only throwing a P0449

If you're getting the P0449 then the Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Valve/Solenoid needs to be replaced. which is the one in the picture. I had the same thing happen to me, I replaced it and the P0449 malfunction went away. I have a 2005 4sp Auto. I had to remove the rear passenger side tire and drop the right side of my exhaust to get my hands up in there to change that out. Good luck
