Default passenger seat belt light

we have an '08 and we keep getting the passenger seat belt not connected light / alarm coming on with my passenger buckled in, it comes on and goes away on it's own, is there a recall or a fix for that?

Check the harness conector under the passenger seat. Might be loose or bad wire. Many have put a zip tie on them. They tend to get dragged on the carpet is seat is moved a lot.

wayback is right. I had that issue; took my seat out while updating the foam and never had it again. I made sure the connector was securely seated.

Hi vt65,

I would be happy to research if there are any recalls for this on your behalf. If you’re interested, please PM us your VIN. If necessary, we can escalate your concerns to our Canada team as well.

Kind regards,
Kaylee D.

Mine still does it after numerous complaints. I don't think they did anything until I insisted they zip-tie the connectors and check them.
But it started doing it again. It happens a lot when the memory seats move back and forth.

I'm going to pull the seat out Saturday to see if they really zip-tied it.
Note: I as well as others have filed a complaint about this C6 problem with the NHTSA website. Take a look.

seatbelt light alarms, light stays on for a min or so then goes away, it is intermittant. I tightened the connector and haven't driven it since... my concern is will the airbag work if the light for the seatbelt is on .... seatbelt disconnected light

thanks for the tip on the passenger seat connector, it appears that was the problem, have driven it 300 miles since i fixed it and no alarm, also keeping the passenger seat raised a bit to avoid contact with the connector... thanks again
