Older thread, but I'm hopeful this is not dead. IMO best looking/fitting C6 hood on the Planet!

Maybe you can have Vette Nuts post an update. Yay, I can get the hood I want, Ney, move on.

Well, shoot...I didn't realize how old this thread actually was and didn't know that it had been a while that there was an update. Didn't mean to put anyone on the spot!

I hate when vendors get us all excited and then completely drop the ball.

Just had a quick call with Marc. Super cool guy. I think he will be chiming in here shortly, but the short version is that they are still looking for the right company to work with on using the molds to make the hoods again. I know a little bit about hood manufacturing, just enough to know that getting them exactly right is critical but difficult. I am hoping that Marc can find a solution because you guys are right, those hoods are terrific looking. Not too crazy, not too subtle.

I am going to try to head down there soon and check out the shop and maybe get an interview with Marc for my Podcast (see link in sig). Should be fun.

Happy New Year, at least that wasn't a definite NO! My glass is half full.

How long has it been now waiting for this hood to be made by VetteNuts ... 2 1/2 years?

Jeeeze, it didn't even take Lockheed Martin 2 1/2 years to find a primary sub-contractor and manufacture F-16 main wing components.

Shakes head ...

More than likely they are trying to find a quality manufacturer to make the hoods and act as the middle man for a percentage of sales instead of selling the molds outright and losing a gold mine.

2 1/2 long years and still no manufacturer to make a hood !

This is not like trying to build the space shuttle.

well lets see...Marc is not Lockheed Martin...and an MCM hood is not an F-16...

Here's a suggestion...since you think it is so easy, why not try building them yourself and make a fortune?

I didn't say making a hood was "easy" ... All I said was that it shouldn't take 2 1/2 years to find somebody to make a hood after you already have the mold.

Yello95 ... Tell us ... Are you somehow affiliated with VetteNuts? ... Seems like I hit a little nerve with you.

Yello95, maybe you could get Marc at Vettenuts to respond and clear the air. I can't imagine investing in the molds and not following through with production.

You can't imagine it because you have no clue what it involves...I have instructed Marc to update you poor souls, within 24 hours, who can't imagine how easy it is to make the hoods...I am instructing him to make the hoods for $300 plus free shipping and free painting of your choice of colors

Jeeeze...heres a thought...since you fly or use to fly planes, you may have some pull with Lockheed Martin and you could get them to have the MCM carbon fiber vacuum extracted hood made within 2 weeks and have them give you a $cut$...You could be their spokesperson...I bet you could sell 10,000+ hoods in a months time...

Fixing a car from scratch is not even close to hand making and vacuum extraction process...not even close but kudos to you for what you have done...

My post WAS to lighten up with some humor...congrats on your skills...keep up the good work
BTW...I have a C3
