Default sun-visor

will I let my wife use my 2011 GS for one day, one day mind you and I go out this morning and the mirror on the sunvisor is hanging down. I go to the chevy dealer to try to order the frame that holds the mirror in and was told oh no you cant order just the frame I have to order the whole sun-visor at $230. Thats it, this horse has only one rider from now on, thats me! Well maby not last night she brings home a C7 replica model and says perhaps we should up grade, I smell a rat, or a new C7 not sure.

My wife did the same thing on mine and both sides are broken....very cheap plastic hinges.

Some people just glue it all back together and don't worry about the mirror.
Especially if the person who caused the problem, is also the person who uses the mirror.

The mirror hinges were a design flaw on the C6. You can often find new visors on eBay for much less, as I did. In fact, I have one sitting in a box ready to use when needed, since one of my mirror hinges is broken, but the other one is still holding up the cover. If I never need the new visor, I'll just sell it.

Ha, why is it that we always seem to wait in our car for our spouse to come out after they have been sitting in front of the bathroom mirror for an hour putting on their make up and as soon as they get in the car they flip the visor down and continue putting on their lip stick?
After twenty five years of marriage it hasn't changed.
Oh, by the way yes I've replaced the visor covers myself.

Have to be careful just gluing it back up that the light doesn't stay on and run down your battery. So far mine's still intact.

A few years ago When I had my 02 I went Carlisle and bought two of them.
Less then $ 150 for both sides.

The mirror lights (and other inside lights also) are supposed to time out after something like 15 minutes and shut off, the ones on our 2009 work that way.

You shouldn't be able to kill the battery right away, but every time you open/close something; the 15 minute timer starts over again, so you can eventually kill the battery one afternoon.
And having even the little mirror lights on for an extra 15 (?) minutes every time you shut down, certainly isn't good for your battery in the long run.

Default sun-visor

Both of my visor hinges broke within the warranty period ( just barely) on my 05. Was glad the second one broke because now I have matching warning labels. I think they put in 2007 visors as the warning label is of that era. 😅

The very first thing I bought for my C6 was black stickers to cover up those hideous warning labels. They are especially bad on a convertible because they are exposed, but even in a coupe I would cover them. The vendors here sell them.

Just rip the cover off and take out the bulbs. The light isn't exactly transforming women into supermodels anyway. If anything, it's an improvement.

It's summer, might be on vacations.
I received e-mail from Gene when I ordered. The price was fair, and shipping was fast.
