Why do we obsess over our Corvettes......
#21
I've had a few cars - trucks over the years / Dodge Dakota RT ( built ) Dodge Ram SRT10 - 2010 Camaro SS .....I have a 2008 Corvette - Auto - S/C - header - cam package ... every single time I drive it - permanent smile ... car is frigging fast and agile ... ( Z06 Suspension )
Why do we obsess ... cause they are amazing and icon of a car !!!

my other 2 vehicles go thru the car wash, not so my 012 C.E. and thus i formed a special bond with the corvette like thousands of other corvette owners. it's my "chariot" which takes me to the stars and back.

you are in the wrong place if you are looking for someone to disagree with you i had to wait until my 40th for my C6 coupe and then turned around and bought my daughter a C5 vert for her 16th we are both equally nuts and feel just like you about our cars. My suburban and Buick are well maintained and cared for, but don't get pampered like the vettes
Mine gets parked wherever, driven in the rain, and goes long periods of time between being washed I don't drive it on dirt roads, but not because I'm obsessive about it, it's because it's so low that the splitter would probably get damaged and the Honda is more comfortable on bumpy gravel and stuff.
I take care of it with all the maintenance, but I do that with all of my cars.

I've had a number of fun/interesting cars over the years and I've always tried to be extra careful with them. The GS is something different for me. Corvettes were always extra special for me ever since I saw "Route 66" (The TV show, not the road! Martin Milner passed this week, a sad time for Corvette fans) back in 1960. I had to wait 50 years for my Vette, so yea, I'm a bit fussy with the GS.

I dont obsess over cars, as it never drive them, wax them every other day and stare at it all day. I buy cars to go fast. I dont cry over a spec of dust landing on the hood. I like all different brands of cars aswell.

If I obsess over my Corvette, it's because most everyone has, or has had, a pick up truck, a mini-van, an SUV, a family sedan, and a muscle car.
In comparison, very few people own, or have owned, a Corvette.
I own a Corvette, there are many 'vettes, but this one is mine!

Drive & smile
[QUOTE=wayback;1590456194]Do either of the others make you smile evert me you drive them?
To many a Corvette in the garage is a long term dream come true.
I get an ear to ear grin each & every time I even push that start button !

And I've unfortunately known a few super models that will give you the ride of your life... oh yeah, they'll take you for a ride...lol...you're not going to enjoy it...
So I guess cars can be the same way, some of the hottest cars are outrageously expensive and take your wallet for a ride! To me a Corvette is the girl next door, or like Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island. Beautiful, but not overly demanding. Someone you might want to cherish and appreciate. It applies to women and cars...

Same motivation....Route 66.....augmented by general car appreciation!! Took me 36yrs ( from age 16 ) to get the first Vette.

I worry about where I'm parking all my cars. They all have certain thrills over the Corvette, mostly because they are both AWD so winter driving is not an issue or concern. The Chrysler 300C AWD hemi still has some nice power to get around.
I have seen a few Corvette owners be stressed about say a rock chip though.

Because a Vette is a Vette. Enough said.

I can't fully express myself, but, when I was younger I always wanted one. So, I was lucky enough to get my first a 60, then a 62,63,66. After the 66, I waited 34 yrs to get my new 07'. I've always had the love for the car, not just one thing, but, everything about them. It makes me happy to look, drive and think about it. I've owned many other cars and trucks, but, my Vette is the tops for me. To me it's just the best fun car to own, period. Others may have different ideas, but, my love for Vettes is deeply seeded in my brain.

It is just a sports car, bad in someways and good in others ....
BUT BUT ... its a sports car that is near perfect near the edge of the envelope but affordable. Given performance versus price nothing is even close, IMHO.
