Love your 240. I had an orange '72 back in the day and loved the car. Got stupid and sold it. I notice you have an air dam on the front of the car. I did the same with mine after I realized that the car liked to start producing lift at around 60 mph. I hardly see any of these anymore out on the road or at car shows. Even more scarce are the first generation RX7s. I had an '81 that I drove for lotsa years. You never see those on the road at all now.

Thanks. I've owned the Z since 1987. It has 274k miles on it and still runs great. Original unrebuilt engine!
It was my dream car in junior high... I was 13 when it was built in November 1970.
Here it is two weeks ago at a car/air show:
And here's the Grand Sport taken this past Saturday on a farm in west Tennessee:

Blanket statement and you guys know who you are:
What I love is 105 pull off's in 11 miles and because you drive a Corvette you don't seem to think it is necessary to use the pull off to allow faster traffic to pass.
While in NC: With a state wide speed limit of 55, you also feel is is OK to drive 30 mph with a line of traffic backed up behind you.
Be polite and use those overlooks and pull offs. Some of us aren't on vacation.
Next time you come here count how many passing zones there are in the mountains... And then ask yourself why am I driving this performance car 30 mph under the posted speed limit. Maybe if I use the capabilities of this car, my trip might be more fun?
If the UPS truck can go the speed limit in the mountains, you would think a Corvette could at least get close to the speed limit.
And because you are with a group of Corvettes, doesn't give your caravan the right to block faster traffic for twenty miles... Make your group go the speed limit and use the overlooks to regroup and let the locals get to work on time.
You don't always have to slow down the flow of traffic because you drive a Corvette.

Cowabunga Dudes. Some awesome pictures. I have run the Dragon many, many times on two wheels. After looking thru this thread, I presented the idea of running the Dragon in the Corvette to my wife. She is ready to go. What a gal! Think we'll make the trip in very early fall. We have a friend and fellow Corvette owner that lives about a 45 minute drive from there. I am going to call him and tell him to prepare for guests.

I'm heading down in a couple of weeks for the first time in the corvette. Until then, here are a couple of pics on my FJR1300.
