Moving power seats with possible bad electrical wiring?
First off I'm not an electrical guy so this may not even be an issue when the time comes. That being said....
I'm heading to a salvage yard tomorrow to attempt to pull my Caravaggio seats from my c6 which had a major engine bay fire. The car has been deemed a total loss but the firewall did its job and the interior is untouched. I am going to try and pull the seats tomorrow, but I'm not sure if the damage from the fire will have cause any electrical problems which will prevent me from being able to move the power seats.
I'm wondering if there's a a way to still move the seats forward even without power, so that I can access the rear bolts to pull the seats?
Thanks for any help!

You'll need to take a portable 12 volt power source and some wire, probably something like paper clips to plug into a connector and obviously some tools.
See post 14 in here. It has worked for several on the Forum so far:

Perfect! I was able to make a "12 volt" and trial it on my old seats, works just fine! Thanks for the assist.
Its not pretty, but it'll do the job for $8

I'm glad my old thread was able to help, definitely appreciate him making that writeup since the emails failed me in there.
