Default TPMS Question?

I searched but I did not see this particular question or answer. Is anybody running their aftermarket wheels without the TPMS? Other than the obvious not knowing if a tire is low or going down are there any other downsides?

If you have no sensors at all you will get error messages on the dic and then after a certain amount of time driving the car will think you have 4 flat tires and put you into limp mode. Meaning you can't go more than (I think) 50 mph.

For what a new set of sensors cost, I would just buy them. Or transfer them over if you are replacing the wheels.

Just curious, did you order oem sensors? I need one and the dealer wanted 85 bucks for 1 sensor.

I bought the Dorman RB 974-012 sensors from Rock Auto for my 08 back in March. They work like OEM and were just $41 a corner (plus shipping, tire guy and programming).
