Default Worst cabin air filter ever from Auto Zone

I can't believe how flimsy it is compaired to the stock cabin air filter. I took it back and got a refund. It was literally paper thin. I forgot the brand, I think it was SLP or something. Crazy thing, instructions was in spanish!!!

I've had great success with the WIX brand of cabin filters.

Lots of people also swear by the Purolator C25623 from Pep Boys as well.

I will try those two mentioned in the future. I ordered the stock and it's rigid and tough.

Built Chevy Tough.

I have replaced mine. I found the directions in the owners manual. I will not try to explain how to do it, cause I will leave out a step and cause you trouble.

There is a door on the firewall just above the battery.

It's better to be stiff when you put it in.
The "C" suffix is for carbon impregnated to control smells.

I bought the Purolator filter shown above from Autozone.

Replaced it when I had my battery out which made the job a little easier.

I bought a charcoal filter off ebay. Great quality and snug fit.

Install is really easy. 3 clips on panel above battery, open panel, slide the old one out, slide the new one in, close flap and close the 3 clips.

Wow, that really looks like junk. Here's a thread I did on the Purolator many years ago when the carbon thing was being discussed often:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...r-yes-duh.html

(Done from a bit of a tongue-in-cheek perspective...LOL)

I totally agree, it's much better to put it in when it's "stiff"!

Purolater has worked for me too. But, I don't put a lot of emphasis on this filter. My top is off most of the time.
