Default Broken terminal connector?

Went to install a new battery tender connection and discovered this. Changed the battery out during the summer, and maybe over tightened at that time. Suggestions? Do they even sell just that part of the connector? Maybe a small band clamp just around the terminal? On the positive side of the battery.
Thanks

Head to the scrap yard and see if you can pick up a whole cable and switch out the broken part

You can just replace that end connector with a much better one...no reason to pay more money for another oem connector that is crummy anyway.

Replacement cable is $50, not exactly a fortune. Positive and negative cables come together as an assembly, so you get both for the $50

I bought a new set but am going to try just replacing the connector itself first. The GM ones look really cheap and it will be an easier install to just cut the old connector off and install a heavier duty one. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Please, let me know how you make out. Was thinking I could just remove that broken part from a new cable connector and install? Anyone know where that negative battery cable connects to the frame? I have the E-Force on this and a lot of the intercooler plumbing had to come out for me to replace the battery. Not looking forward to that again.

You can't get the negative cable off without removing the positive cable too. They both run down near the starter and I know positive runs to the fuse box also.

I'll let you know how it goes replacing just the connector

Not for OEM cables!! The positive cable is over $100.00 plus. And to replaced it you are going to have to unwrap the old cable to install the new one and wrap it.Takes only about 1/2 hour to replace both connectors to the battery terminals. I would like to know where you get both cables for $50 bucks..I know (Fleabay).

The neg cable connects to the block (Left Bank).

Amazon, actually . Search on there for part number 15832652. Came in GM packaging, included both cables and they already had all the heat shielding and such installed. $48 delivered in two days. Can't beat that.

I could not find a part number for only one cable. They both had the same part number so I assume they come as an assembly. Are you sure they come separate and require wrapping, etc. or are you just assuming that?

I am going to try to remove that broken part of the connector. If I can safely pry that piece of metal back up part way it should come right off. I would pay the $60.00 or so on E-bay for the new parts and just take that clip off.

Here's the one I bought:
Amazon.com: ACDelco 15832652 GM Original Equipment Positive and Negative Battery Cable Assembly: Automotive Amazon.com: ACDelco 15832652 GM Original Equipment Positive and Negative Battery Cable Assembly: Automotive

If you look close you'll see both red and black connectors

If you look up the part number for a positive battery cable it will say "included with negative side". The GM Book price is like $75, so I'm not sure where anyone is getting $100 from. I'll be happy to sell you one for that if you'd like

http://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/par...iagram=CF05085 look at #8

I promise you, the AC Delco one is the same thing. GM doesn't make stuff like this, they just buy it from someone. This just cuts out the middle man.

I just got the broken clip off of the terminal connector, no problem. Just carefully bent that metal hold down back and it slipped right off. I will buy the whole assembly and remove one from the new set and put it on the old terminal connector. The picture of my connector at the top here matches the new one you have, correct? If so, I am on it. I greatly appreciate your help here.

after awhile the oem cable clamps become warn an nolonger tighten as they should. i tried cutting the end clamps off an replacing them with after market clamps but the cable itself became brittle an fell apart so i ended up going back to the oem cables. to replace the cables wasnt that big a deal, just be sure to remember or mark the ends then match them with the new cables.

I checked the link to Amazon you went to and I checked from 2007 to 2013 corvettes and got the pop up in RED this does not fit your corvette The dealer gets $137.05 just for the positive cable Part# 20835504.Better do some more research because a lot of GM cars has the same crappie connector. There was a thread a couple of years ago and one member put up some photos of the connectors he put on his. He got them online. All I did was cut the OEM connector off where the cable is crimped on the copper wire and put a brass one on with blue Loctite. I'm old and slow, so it took about 1/2 hr and less then $10 bucks..Good Luck

Ordered what are supposed to be the correct pos and neg cables from a local Chevy dealer this am. Said it is in fact one single unit, and not able to purchase seperately. Charged me $79.00 for the whole thing. I temporarily used a stainless steel band clamp around the pos terminal connector, and it worked great, tight as hell. Could probably leave it like that and it would be fine. Cannot even see it under the red boot cover. Took the car for a quick burn on a beautiful fall New England day. Things may be looking up!

Again, wrong. YOU CAN'T BUY only one cable. They come as an assembly.

I do believe you're right about the part number. Mine is a 2005, so that is the part number I looked up and the one I purchased. Whether it really won't fit a 2007, I have no idea.

Here's the correct one from amazon for 2007's and newer. Still only $65
Amazon.com: ACDelco 20835504 GM Original Equipment Positive and Negative Battery Cable Assembly: Automotive Amazon.com: ACDelco 20835504 GM Original Equipment Positive and Negative Battery Cable Assembly: Automotive

See pictures below.

Notice the positive and negative cables have the SAME part number. Then.. notice the note under the positive one. It clearly states it comes included with the negative. Believe me yet?

Also worth mentioning is the price. Hardly $137, and this IS from a GM dealer.

And last but not least.. I changed only the ends on mine too. I changed them both while I was at it, $9 a piece.. voltage on the DIC is higher and my fuel pressure is up a few psi, so overall I'm happy.

Old end

New negative installed. Not loving the not so factory look but whatever.

Positive done also

Ew
