Where to buy new car battery?
#21
Had the same problem this weekend and went with the Yellow Optima. The review I read were better for the yellow rather than the red, so I went with yellow (I like yellow anyways) Mine was $250 out the door at AutoZone (the only place in town that had one). I live in a small and would have went back with the AC Delco, had the dealer been open.
Good Luck BTW mine was the original battery in my 2010 GS Vert.

Battery Replacement at Costco for C6
Costco Batteries are now made by Interstate.
Interstate Batteries are some of the best out there.
Their Costco fitment code 3 is a Group 35 size.
It has a little extra height, but there is plenty of room for it under the hood.
The other dimensions are the same.
640 cold cranking amps. 800 cranking amps.
$79.82 after taxes and with returned old core battery.
I've had two of these batteries for other vehicles last me over 10 years. When I brought the old one back and made that statement, two other customers said they had the same experience.

Autozone.
They install it for you and give a 10% discount for military.

To me, a battery is just a very simple thing. My original Delco was replaced at 6 1/2 years as a precaution before it even died. I don't see any reason to pay twice the price for a battery of a different construction when a regular one does so well. I got my new battery at WalMart because if I have a problem with it, there's a WalMart just about anywhere that I might be at the time.

OP is asking where to buy.
Why...reason not stated.
OEM Delco from dealer...always fits, looks stock etc.
NAPA...local stores, good batteries, usually open Sundays.
OPTIMA...dry cell, some fitment issues, been there done that I don't recommend.
WALMART, BATTERIES R US, AMAZON ETC....typically price leaders.
Good luck in your decision.

The only battery that forum users don't seem to complain about is the AC Delco OEM replacement battery. I replaced my '05 original battery this summer with the identical Delco battery bought from a Chevy dealership for $105 with a 4 year warranty. That price included a military discount. The original battery was always on a BT Junior battery tender and the car was a total garage queen.
I figured if the first one lasted 10 years, they must be pretty good.

I just bought a Duracell battery from Batteries+Bulbs that has 590 CCA and a 36 month full replacement warranty for $129 and they installed it for me on the spot. They also had the Optima Red Top for $194 with the same CCA and warranty. I've always bought batteries using the $/CCA formula and never had problems with that. Batteries are pretty much batteries. BTW, I will probably never buy an Optima because of problems a pal of mine had with a red top he installed in the trunk of his '65 Mustang restomod. The thing bubbled over and dumped acid in his trunk. Big, ugly mess.

Car wouldn't start this Saturday, dead battery it appears. Best option for replacement seems to be Optima RedTop...please provide alternatives if you believe this isn't necessarily true.
2012 C6 Base model
Amazon has it cheapest at less than $180 to my door, but I've read so many on there regarding crap packaging. Then Amazon is not an authorized Optima dealer so no warranty help..and even Optima doesn't honor warranty when purchased on Amazon. I decided to purchase locally.
So far best price is O'Reilly at around $230ish with a core exchange.
Any alternate suggestions before I pull the trigger?

Had one in my 07 Z and wife's car... Perfect more cranking power than OEM..
My battery (original) in my 13 GS is going to be replaced with the above..
Note: My original Delco in my C5 Z & C6Z died early..
