aux and usb for oem nav radio corvette

Race Car Tech
If you have an older C6 (before 2010 or 2011) you cannot add USB, but you can add an Aux 2 harness for I-pod etc.
Only the newer OEM radios have USB inputs.

Burning Brakes
I found a USB board that can be purchased from a company called Smart Home. Haven't done it yet, but I'm planning to get one. Then mount the borad inside of a plastic box you can buy a Fry's. You just have to run 12 volts to it then wire it up to a installed aux port.

USB Nav radio
Your radio is one of the older factory Nav radios that doesn't support USB. You should find one of the new USB factory Nav radios from a 2011-13 C6 Vette and it will fit right in. Be sure you get GM part number 20856087 - it is the only C6 radio that has USB built in, as well as an auxiliary input port.

It's a pretty easy project and the radio is top quality.

I second that , Ray himself or through his many articles he has written has walked me through many of my projects and problems ...Installing the NAV radio, Power passenger seat ..... and next I am adding the aux port
He is always willing to answer a question, we are lucky to have a guy like him

Ray definitely knows the in's and out of the corvette. If your not mechanically inclined he's the guy to get your harness from. However if you are, you can spend $6 for a headphone plug and splice it yourself in to the XM harness. Took me 1/2 hour to splice and route the wire to the front of the cab.

I got a iSimple ISGM655 to add Bluetooth to my 2008 nav. It also can use USB and AUX-in. Was $103 from Amazon 2 years ago. It was a simple plug and play install, the hardest part was removing the center console to remove the radio.

Can't seem to keep aux input in '09 working. Have cleaned with alcohol and Q-tip which sometimes helps for awhile but is not permanent fix. Anyone have ideas to keep contacts clean?
