I recently took a long trip in my 2008. In four days of highway driving the voltage readings were from 13.8 to 14.6. That seems high to me. Around town it's rarely above 14.0. What kind of readings does everyone else get. Is it time to buy another battery. I keep a tender on it and drive it every couple of days.

Those are perfectly normal values for a 08.

Normal readings. My '08 varies from 14.6 to 13.5 depending on how long it's run, how many rpm's are being turned and what accessories are being used.

Good news so far. Odd thing the higher readings came while on the highway. Idling around in a parking lot the readings were in the 13's.

The alternator spins faster on the highway.

My old OEM Alt had the same voltage when it was working.
You need 14.6 V to keep the battery charged.

NY New 170A alt gives 14.5 to 14.6 at all times.
