Possible I guess???
Hard for me to imagine, because I always leave my cell phone on the console cover, and my keys on the passenger seat when I'm washing my car.
After I close the door, the car sounds 3 beeps to warn me that I've left the keys inside, and the doors never lock.

So,
I've never encountered anything that I contribute to interference, but plenty of others have, so I'm not going to say that just because it didn't happen to me, it never did to anyone else.

Lots of evidence where the car won't recognize the fob due to interference (in order to enter or start), so it seems reasonable to assume the same interference could keep the car from recognizing a fob when leaving.

Bad C6 hatch door emergency release cable.
Got the letter. So I checked out my 2005 C6 Emergency/Manual release cable in the hatch/trunk and it only partially opens the drivers door. The door will not completely open. It is still held by the lock mechanism. It has never worked since I bought the car as this is the first time I have ever checked it. The individual door releases do work ok. I had checked them years ago. Seems like the hatch release cable came defective from the factory. As I have never messed with it. That and the battery cable clamps will be checked this spring. Any help is appreciated.

Safety Car
well, I'd check my mail but........
I just received a letter in the mail from GM explaining how to open the doors using the manual release lever if the car has no power or in an emergency.
They includes pictures were the levers are located in a 2016 vette. I'm amazed the levers haven't changed much from my 2005 vette to the 2016 vette.
I wonder if every vette owner will receive this letter.
Happy Holidays!!

When you use the lever on the inside next to the seat you can push the door open even though the window still hasn't moved.
Kudos for testing these functions out before you actually 'need' them.

C6 emergency hatch located door release operation
The reason for this is because the window does not index down preventing the door from popping open, not that it's defective. Get someone to tug on the door when you pull the release cable.

1. Disconnect battery in locked mode and see if door opens freely with cable pull?
1a. verify that both doors open with manual seat pull
2. Connect battery, lock doors and distance fob from car and see if door opens?
3. Same as above with doors unlocked?
Move active fob to enable vicinity of car.
4. repeat 2. above
5. repeat 3. above
Hopefully all will go well and no harm done.
And the door will open freely under the proper conditions.

I hope I get the letter soon. It will clarify things. I thought GM overengineered my 13 GS with 3 hood releases, two fuel filler door releases and one trunk release. Thats what BMW would do.
