Default Service or not? Manual TR6060 / 2009 C6

Just purchased my 2009 C6 with a 6 speed manual, Tremec TR6060, and looking to update the overall maintenance of my vehicle. Having read numerous posts and my service manual, I'm want to be sure:

1. Do you have to service the manual TR6060 or is it "fill for life" (Corvette Action Center) requiring no fluid changes, in other words sealed???

2. Has your TR6060 manual served you well with your C6???

3. What have other members here done to prolong the longevity on their TR6060 manual transmissions?

Thank you all...

How many miles on the car? Personally I would change the fluid every 50k no matter how it's driven but if I recall normal driving it is recommended at 100k miles. My TR6060 has faired well and I have broken an axle, diff, and bell housing but the trans is holding fine (mine has been upgraded though). Regardless, takes a lot to kill a TR6060.

For a first ever change, nothing wrong with a change at 25 to 30k!!

Thank you gentleman,

86,000 easy miles! Bought it couple days ago from trusted friend. Everything in the car is in very good condition.

Currently, doing general maintenance and I am not as familiar with the TR 6060 as I need to be, but that changed two days ago when I received the keys...lol

To say the least, I'm ecstatic with the purchase and any advice on your experiences with your C6's I definitely welcome!!

The owner's manual has no recommended oil change for the manual transmission. Automatic's are set at 100,000 miles for "normal" service.

Yes...The service manual stated nothing relating to the manual trans, which is odd??

A couple of sites I read, for example, said that the TR6060 is very low maintenance (good thing), and requires "no" fluid changes: Corvette Action Center & Wiki -TR6060???If you have an automatic, there is info galore!!!

Anywho, I will be speaking with my service tech tomorrow and I'm sure he will enlighten me..Being the "A"type knucklehead that I am, just bothers me.......

I change my own fluids and have changed the tranny twice with 93K on the clock currently. Bought my car new in 08 and intend to keep it a while.
