Default Battery for C-6

Which is your choice for a replacement battery for the C-6? I got a yellow top 4 years ago, but it's had it. Any other ideas?

Came in to suggest a yellow top. I replaced mine with one and it's been great. Sorry to hear yours didn't make it longer.

If your "ellow top" only went four years, I would consider an OEM AC Delco since they generally go more than that. I have read numerous post recommending the AutoZone Duralast Gold.

Another bàttery thread. They are all the same aside from Optima. Get one that fits your car and budget and it will work. Nothing special about any of them. Really, there isn't.

Just bought a Yellow Top from sams club out the door installed $205 With all the electronics in these cars you would not be making the right choice with a cheap battery.

I bought an AutoZone Durmast Platinum AGM about a year and a half ago. Can't tell how long it'll last but it's still going strong.

Isn't the Optima Yellow still under warranty?

As said above get the OEM AC Delco, and keep a battery tender on it. I'm only on my second battery in ten years. The original is another garage queen car and still doing fine.

$145.00 at dealer and then got a $20.00 core charge for old battery? $125.00 and the last one lasted 5 years, why change...

My factory Delco is on 5 years and still going. Another Delco will replace it. I am the type that HATES surprises so I will probably replace my Delco in the next month or two. Plus I can get the Delco for $104!

They're pretty much all made/owned by Johnson Controls. Not many independent, except for the smaller brands. Maintenance is the most important aspect of battery longevity, unless you get a lemon. Get the right CCA at the right price, and as said above, keep it maintained.

I keep a battery tender plug in whenever it is parked. Didn't drive the car much at all this year! I was just wondering if anyone had one that they really had good luck with. Thanks for your response.

I agree with OEM, mine is 2007 with only 16,000 miles and still have original battery. It's start showing difficult to crank this morning, so I plan to replace it today. Considering 8 yrs and barely driven without auto tender, the OEM AC Delco seems pretty good.
My other car, Acura MDX, only 3 yrs old, they had to replace the OEM batt (thankfully under warranty).

I went with AC Delco, both it and the original one were fine.

Yellow top also for the C6. After my Red Top last 11 years in my DD 4Runner. With 60 RF amp use besides.

BTW I changed out the Red Top prior to Winter just because I figured it had been in service long enough, it was still working well.

I have always used Delco, even in my boats. My OEM battery will be 9 years old on January 2. I will replace it when it goes...with a Delco.

I went to Advance Auto and bought the battery with the best warranty. They installed it for free and it has been great so far. I do not know how long it will last. It has only been about 6 months, but the Corvette seems to like it.

Now why did you say that Eric?
You just took all the excitement out of this new battery thread.
