At least it's not another "which tire should I buy" or "should I get a C7" thread.

Well, it's all good. Always new folks coming on board.

The threads I'll never understand, are the ones that ask,..."should I buy a Corvette, or a Mustang"....or,..."I can't decide between a Corvette, or a Camaro, the Camaro is Blue, the Corvette is white, what should I do."

Those threads are beyond comprehension to me.

I guess I'm getting "cranky" in my old age.

Part of battery life is climate related and how often it gets used. With the majority of life in a hot climate like Las Vegas, Phoenix, etc anything beyond 3 years is good for nearly any battery. My 340 CCA Deka will never be subjected to freezing temps, but someone in MN would need double that, assuming they used their car all year. Maintained with a charger works for the low mileage rarely driven cars, whereas a DD keeps a battery fully charged normally.

Default Yellow tops are overrated

Just replaced my yellow top finally. That thing let me down more times than any other battery I have ever had in any car. Atleast 7 times it had to be jumped. I would get it checked, and it would read fine, then it would let me down again a few weeks later. Rinse and repeat. Thought it was the alternator, a wiring issue, it was definitely the yellow top.

I considered getting a red top but finally just got a dura last gold (purposely didn't get the platinum.) everything's been fine ever since. I can go days without starting it and it'll turn over fine. My yellow top couldn't go 1 day. Duralast golds are ugly but they work and are cheap.
