Congrats and enjoy. Cool car.

But can always predict these threads . . . cause so many posts ignore the old saying

"if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all."

Congrats! I went the other way. Had a 2011 392 Challenger with 6 speed and now a 2013 GS.

Thanks, I understand. I would do the same. But I will enjoy the car, as you know having owned one, and in the future I will get another Vette in addition.

I can see the logic. I would not use a Vette as a DD. I know many do but they are not the most comfy cars and the road noise sucks. Plus they are space restricted. OK 90% of the time but when you need more room it sucks. Plus he plans to get a Vette later. But at the end of the day it's his car and his money so what I think means nothing. But it makes sense to me. And if I was going to by a pony car it would be that or a Mustang. I don't like the new Camaro at all. Enjoy your car and I look forward to seeing your next Vette.

I sold my GS for $42k and I owed $40k. I sold my daily driver for $5k. I had $7k profit that I used to pay tt&l on the new car, and I also paid off a credit card and put the rest in savings. So I am saving over $400 a month just in car payment and insurance alone, since I am financing $15k less than the Vette. If I refinanced I wouldn't have saved as much. In addition the credit card payment was a little over $100 a month. So I was creative with my options and did what I thought was best for my situation. I was lucky in a few ways, one being I got a good price for my GS, two I got a great deal on the new car with my employee discount. I also got no extra options on it. They had to locate one and ship it to my dealership because all the ones they had were with around $6-8k in options. I told them my price range was less than $40k or it defeats the purpose. I could get a old Corvette I don't know the history on or a brand new big block Hemi Challenger. We know my choice.
In conclusion everyone's situation is different. But I am going to enjoy the muscle car and keep it. Then when things turn around in my industry, I will add another Vette as a garage queen. All of my past Corvettes have been second cars and therefore not daily driven. Just my choice.
Plus you got the new car warranty, new car smell, better tech, Smoother quieter ride, better stereo, new car low maintenance, awesome sounding 392 with the sound proof cabin that makes the sound of the car simply better and more enjoyable than a vette, plus something different and brand new.....sometimes I think constant change is the spice of life.....Great Job! Plus you got black!

Thank you! You forgot the better navigation and back up camera...lol. Also it has some cool displays in sport mode, like real time hp and torque output, plus 1/8 and 1/4 mile times, etc. The technology is top notch. I haven't had it long enough to learn everything yet. But I'm sure I will enjoy it. It's not like I had to go buy an Accord or something. And yes, this one had to be black! 👍🏻

I have absolutely no doubt that you're going to enjoy the heck outta that new muscle car.
My last muscle car was a 1970 GTX 440 6pack. It had that long throw, pistol grip Hurst shifter that was the slowest shifting device you can imagine, but the "cool," factor was off the charts!
Over the past few months, I've looked at a Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger, but just cannot give up my '13 GS!
I cannot justify owning 2 toys, and never be able to explain it to my wife.
I do envy the guys who own both a 'vette, and a muscle car! That's livin'!!!

Enjoy yours,

You're making Italy proud. Nice Fiat. If you keep it for a while make sure you replace the timing chain before 70,000 miles. They are known to break.

You wanted a Challenger, so you bought a Challenger. And you did what you had to do to get one. No need to justify.
I had an '08 Mustang I was going to keep forever - until I test drove a Corvette. I ended up trading one for the other and did not blink.
Enjoy your new hotrod.

That was an old problem I think that has been corrected years ago. Unlike our torque tube, wobbling harmonic damper, and host of electrical problems.

At one point I had a 2004 Z06 and a 1969 Stingray 427, both red. But I would have traded with you any day. You are retired and living comfortably in Florida and have a great marriage and family! Count your blessings!
You have no reason to envy anyone! 👍🏻

Someone pointing out a potential problem at 70k miles...lmao...I'm at 200 miles now, that would be 6 years into the future! I won't even own the car at that point...ha ha! No worries here!

I loved your GS, especially the color. I've seen only one GS like yours in person, it was a vert with the factory grey five spokes, it was amazing. The sound of those dodges is really cool, I wish the LS sounded that deep. As long as you're happy that is all that matters. Thanks for sharing this pics too

Yes, you will definitely enjoy it. I had a blast! I would love to have both in my stable...maybe, one of these days!

MY condolences ………only kidding. Since back in the day, probably before you were born (1970) I owned the 'real deal' '70 T/A ……..

In that respect you are 100% correct, I am very fortunate.
