Default Low beam not working (just one of them)

I've tried my best to find a post referencing someone who is/was facing a similar issue to me and of course I found the typical topics about the known low beam failures for C6 corvettes; but my issue is that only one of my low beams is not working (passenger side).

I have had the headlight recall done just recently at my local dealer (headlight was out before I went in for the recall), I've changed the bulb, checked the fuses, and have checked to make sure power is reaching the low beam itself and all of it is fine and seems to be in working order.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing as me?

Any info or link to something I may have missed would be very much appreciated!

Thank you!

Why did the techs that did the recall not notice that the Lo beam was not working, prior to or after they added the ground wire at the ECBM?

If there is power at the low beam socket, then it has to be the bulb or the socket.
Those sockets have been known to malfunction. Try adjusting the socket prongs so that it a more snug fit on the bulb.
Pull the fuse first so you don't blow the fuse when prying on the prongs.
If that doesn't work, then it could be a bad power wire coming from the source.

Here is part of the headlight wiring diagram which shows the fuses for the lo beams, and relay.

The Low beams are HID run at a high voltage thru a ballast. What did you measure at the low beam?

I would think it is the ballast or igniter ( I don't know if they are in one unit on a C6 OEM system or not)

Other then that, it could be the ground side of the circuit.

edit : It could be the socket also. Above poster made a good point.

a bad ballast or igniter, or a bad ground would also cause the issue.

Looking at the schematic you posted, I'd have to kind of think it wouldn't be the ground if the high beam is working but the low beam isn't since it is shared.

If that is the way it is truly wired.

Also I didn't know each Low and High had their own fuse. Learn something new everyday.

The igniter on the D1S HID is the square box that's attached to the base of the lamp.

Be very careful when testing the high voltage coming from the ballast.

Excellent advice above.

Good luck.

Did you try swapping the bulbs side to side to make sure it isn't a bad bulb? Even though you changed the bulb doesn't guarantee that the new bulb is good. Just a thought.

Switch the ballast and see if it's the ballast.

Switch the ballasts side to side, then do the same with the bulbs. Unless you have a very unusual multimeter, you can't test the high voltage from the ballast...switching them will have the same effect.
