Default Vitesse: Throttle Controller Install w/Pics

VITESSE : Throttle Controller

Here is the install instructions from Vitesse’s web page …I have simply added pics and some clarification? (clarification in bold) since I installed it today. It’s a real easy install allot of people were wanting pics so hopefully this helps someone.

Instruction on how to install:

- Switch off the car for at least 5 minutes and key off.
- Make sure the car is on the Parking position or Neutral.
- Push your driver seat all the way to the back to give you enough room to access under the dashboard.
- Remove the plastic panel under the dash to have an easier access to your Gas pedal harness.

I have a 2012 Grandsport should be the same for everyone?: The plastic panel has three bastards you have to get out…

I have a trim kit if you don’t have one, get one they are like 18 bucks on amazon and are worth every penny.
Once you get the bastards off you will have easy access to the gas pedal.

- Unplug the Harness on top of your Gas Pedal (First you will need to push up the securing gray pin using a flat screw driver, after that while squeezing in the middle of the harness, pull the harness upward by holding the plastic connection, not the wires!
I was able to pull up the gray tab easily with my finger nail. You then press this area on both sides and it lifts right off.

- Now you can plug the harness that comes with the controller, male to female and female to the Gas pedal harness.

The optional yellow and blue wires on the main unit will not be used now. (Brakes / Launch Control option)

The rest is easy…that’s all…..

I tucked the unit back here.

I ran the lines along the side they tuck right in here.

Used Industrial strength Velcro - wipe area with alcohol that you are going to place the velcro.. :

Here is where I placed mine….unsure if my leg will hit it so I may change its location but It looks cool to me.

The programming is easy. Just follow the instructions exactly and your good.

Makes the car feel really responsive and with my newly installed C5 spring and this....I am off to slaughter sissy boy Porches and BMWs...

Good write up. Except I wouldn't mount the controller there. Too many moving body parts there.

Yea, it worked great there when I tested it but I am sure my leg will push it up to 9 by mistake going through a school zone or something....better change it.

Thanks for the write up and pics. I have had the controller for a while but I haven't installed it yet. Haven't been driving much in the last few months but will probably install it soon.

I put mine just under and to the right of the ignition switch. Ran the wire up the adjoining panel.

Curious about the C5 spring. Is this a stronger spring for the accelerator pedal?

I also did the ashtray. (You can also get a set of trim removal tools for about $8...maybe less at Harbor Freight).

Great effort with the photos, OP. Such a hassle to do but much appreciated. Thanks!

Trying to show you how easy it is to install so you will go buy one!! ~~

The front lip we installed was much harder than this, and this really makes a difference in the way the car feels!!

I was about to take a pic of my new location but you already did! This location allows you to visually confirm and change on the fly...

Actually the C5 spring is a replacement for the C6 clutch pedal spring. It makes the cars clutch feel allot smoother.
