Default Tire Size Dilemma

Doing some mile events this year and most do not allow Drag Radials, which im currently running. I feel I only have one option when it comes to an acceptable tire, which is the Toyo R888's. Unfortunately im limited by size...

Current setp
F 255/40/18 (26" dia) Wheel size 18x10
R 345/35/18 (27.5" dia) Wheel size 18x12

They make r888's in what I consider only 2 reasonable options for an 18" wheel.

335/30/18 (25.9"dia)
305/35/18 (26.4" dia)

I have Nittos on the front and the car is lowered and running a Bilstein suspension. It basically is sitting a couple inches off the ground and going down on size for the front in my opinion is not an option. This means that if I go with the wider 335 r888's the tire diameter will actually be less than the front (26' in front and 25.9" in rear). Besides the look I see this posing problems.

Someone can check my work but I believe this forces me to choose the 305 unless I want to buy another rear set of Forgestars in a 19" size (an option).

1.) Is a 305 tire going to fit safely on a 12" wheel?
2.) Is it going to look skinny on a 12" wheel?
3.) Is there another tire that can put down the power in a 345/35/18, 335/35/18, 325/35/18, 315/35/18 size that im just missing?

Ive spent a decent time on the C5 side researching since these are sizes they are more familiar with but haven't found exactly what im looking for.

If you just need tires/wheels for a mile event, be more concerned about getting ones rated above the speed you think is possible. Also wide is not the answer for that type of event. Narrow will work better and if you're more concerned with "the look" than the performance, then the performance will suffer.
Results at mile events aren't tied to the launch capability like they are in 1/4 mile events, so a real sticky tire is not only not needed, but will slow you down.
Think about using some 17 x 9.5 wheels from C4's or C5 Z06.

r888's are rated at the top for speed (186+). I just want to make sure Ill have enough rubber to stick the shifts into 2nd and 3rd without too much spin. By look I meant more of will the tire look stretched onto a 12" rim. Problem with going even smaller diameter is that I gain acceleration but lose some potential top speed. Im all for reducing rolling resistance I just dont want to under-due it. Thanks for the input.
