Curious what are people using for wheel cleaners for the black rims? I have a 12 Centennial
GS with the factory satin black rims. Thanks

I like the 08 more since it's a Z51 car, better suspension for my liking.
It looks great. You probably got a higher optioned car with the Z51 package

I just use detail spray or spray wax and 2 micro fiber towels.
Do the wheels last then wash them and they go to household duty.

Nothing, you cant tell the difference when black wheels get dirty so no need to clean them.

Have chrome on vehicle, black on my other; use the same thing on both, car wash, rinse, dry ... wipe down afterwards with the same detailer I use on the vehicles

I don't like black wheels but, more importantly, my wife hates the look of black wheels on a car. She says it makes it look like the car lost its hub caps and the wheels are dirty.
When we just bought out 2019 Grand Sport in Sebring Orange all we could find were Corvettes with black wheels. She protested vigorously so we had one built with the standard silver wheels.
She was right. It looks great.

Hey, if you're going to necro a thread, you have to make sure it's in the wrong forum, too. Otherwise, it's a wasted effort.

Congrats, repo czar on your purchase! I'm sure you'll love it. Post pics in C7; the folks there will appreciate it.

Black, chrome, colors all have their place and time. These trends will come and go and then repeat over time. Back in the '50's it was red wheels and flipper hubcaps. In the '60's it was chrome reversed with baby moons and for those with money to spend, the new "Mag" wheels. In the '70's it was mag wheels. In the '80's it was a little of everything. In the '90's the custom wheel appeared. And now anything goes depending on how creative you're and how big your check book is. In the end it is what you like and what looks best on your car, no right or wrong.

Wheel style & color is all subjective so the argument is really moot. The worst argument, however, is "it makes the wheels look dirty" which I guess would make a black car always look dirty? Now the color of the wheels will make the car's paint color look different as well. When I bought my Inferno Orange GS it had competition gray C6 Z06 wheels on it & the Orange color appeared a little muted. When I switched to gloss black C7 Z06 wheels the orange paint appears brighter, deeper & more vibrant. Add the subtle black accents I've added (splitter/side skirts, head lights, GS badges & smoked side marker & tail lights) and the orange really pops now. I personally feel the same happens with yellow & red C6s - a red C6 with gloss black wheels pops more than with chrome or gray/machined.
