I finally finished my C6 base (Z51) brake project (work kept getting in the way): painted calipers (not a professional job but I'm happy with the look), replaced rotors (Centric StopTech drilled and vented), pads (Duralast GT) and flushed the fluid. Also ordered a new set of wheels and am awaiting delivery. Want to get them on, then will bed the brakes and enjoy driving again! Poor Vette has been up on the jack stands for 2 weeks now!

Lowered with stock bolts, painted the gray centers of the rotors, painted the MGP Caliper covers that were on the car when I bought it... I'm going to paint the calipers soon, just wanted to see how I would like them painted white before I pulled the trigger.

Installed my hydrocarbon outer a pillars. They match my real carbon fiber side mirrors perfectly.

I haven’t seen the white on white. Looks great. I recommend painting the calipers the covers have there faults and painted
looks way better. I almost went that way. With covers but ended up painting mine and very happy I did.

Polished it and went for a drive, top on and AC on, don't usually do that but it was hot. Not often we get into the upper 90's here. The water looked good!

Yes I agree, I painted the covers to make sure I'd like the look, which I definitely do. I've already taken them off and got the calipers cleaned/detailed. I'll purchase the G2 paint in white to finish the job soon... Thanks for the comment.

Better than halfway thru our Des Moines to Dallas, Houston, Galveston, back to Houston and tonight in Dallas again. Tomorrow off to drive Pigs Tail in Arkansas and spend night in Branson. Friday is back to Des Moines. C6 GS is a spectacular travel car and if you aren't burning gas on the back roads, you are missing the best part of owning a Corvette.

Fixed the rear view mirror wobble by replacing the pins. Then fixed the ashtray door that was constantly popping open. Installed a Corsa Sport.

Drove back and forth to the Indy 500. Besides that, not too much...

I did the opposite, lol. 90+ degree days now, so too hot for the transparent top for my tastes (I get hot really easily and it feels like an oven to me if it has just been sitting there in sunlight for a little while). Once Fall/Winter hit, then I'll switch them back around.

I did mine by pulling the wheels off one at a time and each caliper at a time. Did not disconnect the brake lines. Brushed Each one with Red Caliper paint I purchased at Summit. Then Sanded off the raised letters CORVETTE also painted the brackets black and the rotor centers black. Before and After

To be more specific - Actually I swapped the Transparent top from the Black GS to the Torch Red GS.. for the same reason you state. I am taking the Black one on a road trip to Eastern Wa where it is usually hot and sunny.

Plus I just changed the Clutch Fluid using the Ranger Method and did an Oil Service - Road trip ready now.

Wife and I just finished up a 3K mile plus round trip from Des Moines to Galveston TX and drive the Pigs Trail in Arkansas on the way back with a night in Branson.

If you have never traveled in your Corvette, you are really missing something. The 2011 GS we have is far and away the best road car we have ever traveled in. The comfort of the ride and the seats is not to be beat. The handling and especially the power available at highway speeds is beyond excellent. we averaged over 24 miles per gallon and that includes all the city driving we did! The first day we did 12 hours from DSM to Dallas and weren't stiff or sore at all from the long ride. We picked up my brother and his wife with their 2004 C5 and away we went towards Houston and then Galveston

The biggest kick we got was the waves and looks from the others on the road. You could just see the envy in their eyes as we traveled in our vette!
