New vette owner here. I'm two weeks in. Drove it this weekend for about an hour. All nannies on as it still scares the crap out of me. Only half-throttle punches and roll-ons. I have yet to floor it. But "..patience Daniel son" - Mr Miyagi

2021 C6 of the Year Finalist - Modified
Ok...... when I bought the car 8 years ago it had a set of Corsa Sports on the car......I really like the sound.....then about 4 years ago I put on a set of Stainless Works LT headers and their 3" X pipe set up.....and I did take off the cats...... yeah things went cowboy real quick as all that poured into those Corsa Mufflers...... I really liked it for about a year then it started to bug me on the long runs..... So this past week I put on a set of Z06 NPP 3" mufflers and bought the Mild to Wild NPP in a box kit and it has changed everything..... I'm so happy now..... My bride is so happy now..... happy happy happy.......
The tough part was coming up with a place to go get the vacuum..... that behind the intake deal did not work for me..... so the guys at the shop where this was all happening discovered an extra port on my Meth injection kit and we tapped into that and easy peasy we had all the vacuum we wanted...... someone should make a thin plate that mounts behind the throttle body to make that an easier install for those who's cars did not come with the NPP option...... just saying.....

Congrats on your new ride..... those nannies will mostly keep you out of trouble if things start to get weird.... I keep mine on all the time......pretty soon you will be hitting the on ramps with gusto as you romp down on it and get that big smile on your face........ you know the one.....

Started my header install. 100 degrees + in Maryland this weekend. Could only get about an hours worth of work done in the evening when it started to cool down a little.

2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
Cut about 1/4 off the MGW shifter stick so the stock **** could be screwed into the lower hole & not sit up so high.

After several months of work, my project is just about complete. ZR1 Front splitter and side skirts, Front, rear and side emblems changed, rear bumper "Corvette" inserts, side marker and tail lights smoked, eagle eye tail lights installed, new wheel/tire set up, painted roof and rear spoiler, paint matched calipers and XPEL clear bra installed on the whole front end (bumper, hood, front fenders). Enjoy

Programmed my Dashlogic so I can get more immediate feedback on some useful data, all from the DIC. Nothing new to a lot of people, I realize, but a cool gadget to have, IMHO.

I put new seat covers on for my Montery Red vette. I copied them from member jdvann.

On Sunday drove from Sauble Beach South to Tobermory and then onto the Chi-Chimaun ferry, and then on to Manitoulin Island. From there, on to Sault Ste Marie to start the Dixie Highway road trip. We'll end up at the end of the Dixie in Miami FL, and then on to Key West. I'll write up the entire trip with pics when I get back at month's end. Weather has been perfect so far.

Drifting
While autocrossing at the Vapo Trail Corvette NCCC event in Santa Maria, CA, I made my "Service Active Handling System light to come on and now my steering wheel is pointing to about 9:45. I hope I didn't break anything. I made it home to Arizona with no problem. Although, my right rear tire looks like it received an extreme amount of wear on the way home. I'll get the alignment check before I take it to the dealer for the active handling system problem to make sure that the wheel position is causing the system to to a fault.

Melting Slicks
I had, what luckily turned out to be, a simple repair. lost an upper radiator hose yesterday.
I did have to walk 4-1/2 miles home though. was able to locate a local source for the hose.
was able get car #2 and get the parts needed.
oddly the big guys ( autozone and o'riellys did not stock ). I found it at a shop that I used back in early 1980's.
I mentioned luckily since earlier since that morning, I did a 300 mile drive. this was mainly on the back roads above napa valley.
if that hose had gone out then, with no phone reception, I might still be thumbing for a ride.
anyways, new hose & a gallon of coolant later, all seems to be well.
maybe time for a new lower hose(?).
