I'm coming home around 1:00 in my 2017 pickup, with 6300 miles on it, and about a mile from home a deer jumps right out in front of me. I didn't get hurt at all, but her life ended very quickly.

Oh well.

Oh man, that sucks! At least you were not injured. Time to go truck shopping. Good luck.

Thanks to all of you. It was not a good day.

Spent most of the afternoon on the phone. Truck was towed to my buddy's shop, adjuster will come tomorrow.

A gory sidenote for those not faint-of-heart: The deer was a doe and she was carrying a fawn, which spilled onto the road. It was maybe twice as big as a house cat.

I knew the cop that came and he took a picture of it. The cops hate the friggin' deer, they cause so many useless accidents.

Bummer on the suicidal deer. We've had 5 deer collisions at my house over the years. 2 of them rammed the side of cars in broad daylight. Looks like your truck did it's job and protected you.

I'm not used to how low a vette rides, I've driven pickups for years. Out driving yesterday noticed a car in the next lane was a Ford Escort and I am looking UP at the car! I think about that with bambi. Maybe they usually go over the top?

I just wanted to say working on these cars has been pretty easy. I've owned many Chevrolets / Pontiacs Toyotas / Hondas And one Dodge Ram. The brakes on these Corvettes are very easy to do as compared to the rest of them. Lucky for us

Yes, I thought of that this afternoon. With the Vette it probably would have went through the windshield, and I would have ended up in the hospital or morgue.

under it, that deer catcher front would send it over the top, n vette speed doesnot equal truck speed.

Thanks Mrs. Ow.

I really wasn't looking for deer at one o'clock in the afternoon, although it wouldn't have mattered. The deer came out of nowhere and were running full blast; something must have scared them out of the woods.

I looked at it sitting in the garage. This is our weather this morning and I am quite tired of it.

Wow, snow on the ground in Kentucky in April?

I have it here too, but it's not unusual for us. But this spring has to be one of the suckiest out there, been crazy cold forever. Getting into the teens most nights here.

But it's supposed to warm up by the end of next week.

Took a short cruise down a couple of our county roads after breakfast this morning. Stopped a couple times to take some new 'glamour' shots
