Default Gauge face questions

I had an 04 Silverado and when the speedo crapped out I sent it out to be rebuilt and ordered white gauge faces too. It came back looking awesome. I have seen some vendors offer the colored gauge faces for our C6's and colored bezel trim too. Has anybody changed theirs and if so what is the difficulty level? Is it a diy project or must it be sent out? My 2011GS is torch red with ebony interior. I would like to change the gauge faces to white and possibly put the red trim on the bezels. Anyone one have pictures of that? And opinions?

Here is a DIY from the gage face company that I saved from long ago of just that.

Here is a white face from google images. I think it looks very nice

Good luck

gauges faces aren't eas

How do you know where to put/point the needles when you are re-installing them ?

Do you have to get the gauges recalibrated ?

US Speedo includes the instructions and customer service when you purchase the face plates.
Here is an example of instructions by US Speedo.

Not sure if it is the same, but when I did this on a Japanese car once the new gauges came with their own power supply and slipped over the old faces. The needles were not disturbed, but if they moved you could move them right back, like the hands on a clock.

I liked it on my other car, but the C6 gauges are near perfect to me . . . no interest in messing with them.

I had white faced overlays on my T/A that just went over the originals and they looked great.

I actually bought C white gauges but after I received them and thought about it, I decided I really liked the C6 gauges as they are (especially at night).

I ended up selling the white gauges without ever installing them.

Here's a couple pics of the RPI gauge trim rings as well as a plate they make to cover the area surrounding the gauges. All available in multiple colors/etc.

Love my white guage-face. U S Speedo I installed them myself. Kind of a PITA but not too bad.

Hardest part is getting the needles back to the right height with out damage.

Thanks for the pic Wayback. I really like that look. My car is TR with ebony interior and some red accents...not much. I think the white gauges as shown but with the red trim rings would look outstanding. I guess I just have to work up the nerve to do it.

US Speedo used to install for a minimal fee, I think 20 bucks if you shipped your cluster to them. Be worth a call.
