I need to order some brakes......
Brakes started to squeak today. It has 27K on it 08 Base model I wanted to do slotted and cross drilled rotors anyway.
Was thinking Hawk HPS pads. They worked well on the Camaro.
Who are you getting rotors from?
Any better suggestions on pads?
Or upgrades?
Just bought an A&A supercharger Kit and rear wide body, so I don't want to dump a bunch or money on something like wildwood kit.

You must be hard on brakes, I have 05, with 55,000, and still on my original brakes. Just because they make noise doesn't mean yours are worn out.

Z06/GS kit or go home. Wide body. Skinny brakes. Doesn't git it.

My 2005 has 54,000 miles on it and the brakes were still at 7 to 8mm. Did not have to replace them, but I did. Went with Wagner Thermo Quiet Ceramic and they work very well. Only took about 3 hours start to finish (included cleaning the wheels). Total cost for front and rear pads was $65.00.

As far as rotors go, all you need is slotted ones. Look at any race car and that's what they use. I have Brake Motive on my car. $360.00 for all new Z51 rotors and pads. Just a little squeak when you go down the first road to get the rust off the rotors. I inspected mine last week when I was changing the color of my calipers. The pads had some wear after 3000 miles, but I'm a pretty agressive driver.

If you want a quality aftermarket pad take a look at the Carbotech 1521 pad. Low dust stops like OEM and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels.
If interested let me know I will be happy to help you.
Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Depends what you want out of the car, if you push it hard you will want to up the $$$, there is nothing wrong with the Hawk HPS pads. I have had them on using rotors made by centric and they performed great through there liftime, some autocross and other type of events but not full blown track use and I am not light on the brakes. There also are some great deals that can be had by dealing with the vendors here and you will not go wrong...best of luck with your research!

Before I installed an Edelbrock E-Force s/c on Red, I replaced the original Z51 brakes with Baer Eradispeed Plus 2 rotors and Carbotech 1521 ceramic pads. My thinking was "whoa" before "go". The Baers are both drilled and slotted like you want.
At 55K miles the GM ceramic pads had cut into the Z51 rotors leaving almost a 1/8" rim lip inside and out. I had the Baers installed by MidAmerica Motorworks at Funfest 2012. They're zinc plated, so even today with 100K miles they're virtually rust-free. And with their heavy iron centers removed and replaced by anodized aluminum caps, they're a lot lighter than stock.
