Default Summer Vacation Tour

Looking at taking the 427 for a two week cruise this summer through the Badlands, Rushmore, Yellowstone, Tetons, and over to the Pacific and down the coast to Los Angeles. I am curious about road conditions in the national parks and areas of road construction to be wary of in those general areas. Also any recommendations for must see and eats would be appreciated.

That sounds like a lot of driving for two weeks. Might be more fun to try doing a little less driving and making more interesting stops.

Call the National Parks ahead of time for road construction info. Last summer I took my GS through Yellowstone and ended up driving over some pretty nasty roads being worked on that were all rutted dirt.

Good point, I will make a few calls. Gearhead, half the fun is rowing the gears with the top down. It is better than sitting in the middle of a movie set. We took the 427 down to Key West over a 12 day 4000 mile run and had a great trip. This trip should even be better if we have good weather. My main concern are the bad roads that our federal government maintains.

We had our 13 GS in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons NP's this past September and Badlands, Rushmore, Deadwood, Devil's Tower the year before and all of the roads were good. Heading to North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, and Canyonlands in September.

We can't wait to see most of those same sites. I am glad the general condition of the roads are good. Thanks!
