Default Seat belt tension issue

The passenger side seat belt locks in place once you buckle it while the driver side stays loose. Is this normal? Thanks.

You need to unbuckle the passenger belt and let it retract all the way. then start all over hooking it up.

When you pull the seat belt all the way out it ratchets.

This allows you to cinch it up tight if you need it (racing/etc.).

To release it you have to fully retract it and start over.

Some people have a habit of pulling the seatbelt way out before buckling it...this causes the ratchet effect...it's a feature not a defect. Don't pull the belt out any further than is necessary to buckle it.
