Time has come...
After 44 years as a sales manager the time has come for me to say good bye. I will be retiring the end of the week and will start the next phase of my life. I recently moved up from my C5 to my C6 and expect to spend a lot of time on the road. Sad to say good bye to one phase but really looking forward to mods and drive time. I have have a lots of vets and most just stay covered and garaged. Now with lots of time on my hands, I thing things will change.

Have fun with your retirement. My dad called it quits after nearly 50 years with the same company. At 72 he's lost and has nothing to do, it's good that you have a plan and you plan on having fun. I've seen more of my dad in the past year of his retirement than I did the first 34 years of my life, lol.
Corvettes are an expensive, but a great hobby. My dad is selling off all his toys, I just don't get it. Maybe he's planning on just picking weeds the rest of the summer.
Have a great time with the C6, they are fun cars for sure.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I'm 4 years from retirement as I sold my partnership interest in theis company and signed a 5 year contract. That was a year ago so I'll retire at the end of the contract. I just hear that you have to have a plan to fill the time.

Tell him to buy a small house (not condo) to use as a rental, rent it out as a vacation rental (day, week, or month, not year-around), then take over all maintenance and management himself. That's what I did - I've been retired 22 years now and never bored! This is the house, I promise I'm not posting this looking for tenants!!

One thing, though.
Just because you're officially retired doesn't mean giving up forum participation & as you said you'll have plenty of time on your hands.
Can't be driving all the time. Gets gawd-awful expensive, fast.
Besides, aren't enough 10+ year members left as it is.

I have spent a lot of time in Arizona and Nevada. I lived seems like on the 101 and 202. I traveled to Tucson where I made some good friends. I think making a trip in the WINTER out there would be lots fun. Landru you are correct. More time for posting now......

Congrats on your retirement. Now you will be busier than ever before, doing what you want to do on your own schedule.

Congrats!
I'm hoping to be not too far behind you. I'm still trying to make my mind up if I'm ready or not.
