My son and I have had several Subaru's over the years. Mine are usually an old guy Outback for my surfing vehicle, but my son likes the WRX. I know the brand well. It does not take a lot of money to get one of those performance oriented Subi's to smoke a stock C6. Like the Professor and Billy said above, your son may soon be laughing at you on a Subaru forum.

I started out with a 1976 Buick Le Sabre four door boat on wheels that needed an engine rebuild. I rebuilt the 350 engine with my dad and enjoyed every minute of it. I also had to rebuild the brakes since the brakes failed on me also. The car gave me a lot of experience at the young age of 16. I will never forget it. It also let me know what I wanted in a car down the road. Your son's tastes will change over time much like your tastes have changed. I had a few rice mobiles too. Mainly because I bought into the falsehood of their quality by other foreign car owners.

Seems Subaru's are the young mans car of choice.

If I was young pup looking for a performance car... I would do it all over again and buy a C5 z06 just like I did when I was young. It is not hard to find a low mile example and most corvette owners take the best care of their cars.

My son just bought his second Scooby, a 2014 BRZ. I have been impressed with the engineering and performance. He's talking about adding a supercharger, that would fix the only real shortcoming - about 100 bhp shy of being real entertaining. Attachment 47988122

My daughter works for Amazon and she just bought a Subbie......maybe they have to if they work for Amazon.......when she was going to buy a different car she called me.....she couldn't decide between the Hemi Challenger and the Subbie..........I had to tell her the Sube made more sense in her life at this point and when she could afford two cars she go for the muscle.....so I am not a total fail......right?

I have a 2015 wrx, great car but I don't drive it enough. But, I'd recommend one to anyone who needs 4 doors and all-weather capability, they've really grown up for this model's generation. Trading it in on Tuesday along with my 2013 Sierra.
