Don't worry if others razz you about switching to a Camaro.

We gave Camaros serious consideration as an alternative before we bought our first Grandsport. The appeal of having a back seat (ok, grocery shelf) was a strong factor but in the end we couldn't get passed the terrible rear visibility in the convertible and the strange dash layout/configuration (A/C, radio controls, etc).

That being said we enjoyed it and thought it would have been a great daily driver.

Good luck with your new ride.

Not sure why some on CF bash them. They are a nice looking muscle car. Enjoy the new ride!

For ZL1 price, I'd definitely stay in the Vette world.

I personally love the Camaro, but there's nothing it offers me that a Vette can't do and more. The visibility is also a pretty big factor for me since I daily drive my vehicle

One big factor in the purchase of the Camaro was my wife who has mobility issues due to MS and she has always had difficulty getting in and out of the corvettes, especially my old c5 and the c6 as well. But she had very little issue sitting in the higher seat of the Camaro. Thanks again to all my fellow members for the kind words and well wishes.....

It's either the zl1 or the c6.

Godspeed, brother. Enjoy the new wheels.

The only approval you ever need on any car is your own.

Thank you my friend. I appreciate you're last comment. As well as pretty much my other fellow forum members. With the exception of one moron from an earlier post. Godspeed to you as well bro...

If most of the editors of Top 3 car mags are to be trusted, the latest Gen Camaro -- even the non-v8 ones -- are getting high marks in terms of overall performance and handling.

I almost ordered a SS 1 but found my garage queen c6 right before ordering. Glad I did, but I was very close to going Camaro.

If I had any quip about it... it is the visibility out of the cabin... it's kind of tight. Not too much problem if one only looks forward... but that's unrealistic in everyday driving.

OP, congrats on your Camaro SS purchase! I think you will be pleased! I owned a '10 SS and had a blast with it for 5 years! The Camaro5.com forum is awesome and I got a lot of help and mod ideas from there. I sold my SS and went a year and a half with nothing to play with. I bought my '06 Corvette last August and glad I did! There's things I loved about the Camaro and now I'm still getting used to the Vette. Completely different feel and handling. Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for the response. I will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon, and have already ordered a pair of Lyyods mats and a few other little goodies. I agree about the Camaro5 forum. I just joined up , and man some of these goys on there put Corvette owners to shame with the mods they put on their cars....
