Default Which OBD II Scanner do you recommend?

I have a C6 2011 and a C5 2000 and I am looking for a scanner that will work with them to retrieve and clear codes for not just the typical check engine light, but also the ABS, Active Handling and Traction Control. Any recommendations?

Autoenginuity with the GM enhanced. I have it and it works with every module on any 1996 or newer GM. Mine also has enhanced Ford.

I think they are all the same. Just add enhanced for the brands you want.

But I have had mine a long while. They may have choices now. I think there are newer ones out. It will bleed and flush ABS. Get into air bag or BCM. Even the radio on the C6. That's the only one we have with that complicated a radio. But you need enhanced to do more than an app and blue tooth on your phone. Just basic OBD II.

At $249 for the just the scan tool, and another $209 for the GM pack (cheapest I could find the add pack), your at the price of a clone Tech II, and it will still not do half of what the Clone Tech II tool will do instead.

Are those clone tech II tools any good? Do you have one? I need a scanner as well, and it must be able to read and clear srs codes as well

I met someone who has one of these scanners and he is totally pleased with it. The company even has decent tech support.

shocked at the prices, i thought they were $150 tops......not $380 and up. Seems a good deal for a mechanic, but i just wanted it to clear a code or two if they pop up!

The knock off tech2s fail at a high rate. They wont do anything the other wont do without buying every thing you want to do. And GM won't sell it to you. None of the programming comes in the tool be it GM or China. A bunch of guy on the Duramax forum bought them.

This $14 tool does fine for reading and clearing codes.

Not really the correct forum to be getting into this, but all depends where you by the Clone from and if it going to have a high failure rate or not.

As for programing, that is all in the cards, and sometimes you have to upgrade the firmware in the card to get it to work with some models.

As for TIS2000, the clones should come with a cracked version of that as well. But if push comes to shove, you can get a once day TIS membership for a day if you need to direct download a Car's firmware update (if you can just find the update on line instead).

Really, if the guys where having problems with programming at Level 3, then sounds like they did not have a clue on how to re-flash the cards to the needed cracked firmware isntead.

I've tried the cheap ones and have blown thru a couple. I finally found one, even if it's pricey, I really like https://goo.gl/VSJIfK. it turns itself on and off with the engine, so I can just leave it plugged in all the time.

This will let you read, clear codes from all the modules? ABS, SRS, etc?

wouldn't getting software like HPTuners do all this plus the ability to tune your car?
