Default Where can I get my calipers painted?

So I live in a apartment and I am not allowed to work on my car. I also don't know anyone with a garage that will let me use it for a couple of hours. Basically I'm stuck paying someone to work on my car for me until I get a house and can myself.

I really want to get my calipers painted and had a guy near me that did it for like fifty bucks for all four breaks, but now he's gone up to 150...that's with me supplying the paint.

Anyone know a place that does a decent job in the Dallas TX area that can do this kind of work? Thanks.

There are a lot of do-it-yourself garages opening where you can rent a bay/lift/tools relatively cheaply.

No experience with them, but a quick web search came up with:

http://www.mybayauto.com/

Probably others closer to Dallas.

Good luck!

I wouldn't do it for it $150.00. I would buy the g2 paint and take him up on that offer!

A floor jack, lug wrench, masking paper and tape, plus a rattle can of the desired color can get the job done in a parking lot. Just don't do it on a windy day.

When you get your house w/garage you can redo them better, but for now this would work.

Do it in the parking lot of an auto parts store. They seem to let people do about anything there.

Thanks everyone. My dad has a pretty nice garage and setup but lives a ways away. It's a pretty drive though through the country side so I'll probably take it down to his place this weekend maybe and get her done.

Lol I just about bought a jack today and went to the walmart parking lot to do it, but think I'll try and be a little more patient and do it were I got all the stuff I need and a good place to work.

I would consider caliper specific paint. It can be brushed on rather than sprayed, it is heat resistant and once applied the paint dries smoothly. It's available by vendors on this forum.http://www.corvettemods.com/Corvette...se_p_5466.html

I'm very interested to see how this turns out. Can you post the before & after pics? I'd like to get mine painted as well.

Go to a local park and do it. To do it correctly, it takes several hours to do all four. Cleaning and masking is the real time consuming part, the painting is the easy part.

Looks good. Did you mask & tape everything or take them off completely prior to painting?

I don't think he removed them since you can see where the back of the pads are painted also.

Looks good.

Thanks and I left them on and used a small trash bag around the rotor up next to the caliper. Scrapped the paint off the letters with a razor and done.
