Need help with FOB issues 2005 c6
My c6 is giving me trouble with the FOB,
Sometimes it detects it and sometimes it doesn't
I've replaced the fob batteries, tried 2 different fobs and still the same thing
I click lock and sometimes i have to press it 5 times for it to go through while im right in front of the car, same with the trunk open.
Soemtimes it doesn't detect the fob and auto unlock the door,
And timestimes when i try to turn off the car, it doesn't detect so it asks no fobs are you sure you want to shut off the car?
And when i shove it in the glovebox, thats not manually starting the car, just off topic
Any ideas?
Scanned the car, absolutely no codes... No clue what to do short of changing the entire receiver out and crossing my fingers

Any strong electronic devices anywhere near the car? That'll interfere with the communication between the fob and the car.

If your cell phone is in the wrong place in the cabin, that will do it. But it usually only causes trouble if it is plugged up to power in the console. Might do it if both the cell phone and your fob were in the same pocket at the same time.

My Cadillac started doing things like that and I finally had to replace the FOB.

You're staying too close to the car (with the fob) for too long after you exit. Car "thinks" the fob is still in the car.

I seem to remember seeing a thread about the batteries needing to be the type that have smooth backs vs the ones with the cross hatch. You could also check the battery contacts when you have it out, and make sure they are not bent down too far. As for the three horn honks, mine (2008) does that when my extra fob is in my right pocket, I always carry two, one in each pocket. As long as all is well with number one, it will be the one the car sees.
