Default Pulled A 1.26G On My '13 GS Today

Was going around my favorite roundabout today and decided to let it rip. Got into the start of the roundabout in 2nd gear (manual) and proceeded to keep accelerating smoothly into 3rd and at the 3/4 point of roundabout I was at about 58-62MPH and the 1.26G. All the time I kept the steering very smooth with no jerking. Car never felt like it was going to break loose and I probably could have gone just a little faster but I chickened out. Car has Bridgestone RE-11's and Johnny O'Connell sway bars with the stock end links as the only non stock items on car. BTW even when I was at the extreme part of the turn the tires never made a peep.

Much easier, and safer, way to check the max is to just go to an empty parking lot. The roundabout thing would really spook me because there is no good bail-out area if you do break loose. But....I bet it was a scream...

Nice! I'm chicken around on ramps and usually back off too early. A GS has so pretty fat patches though.... I'd like to be in one at 1.26G

What's your alignment setup? That's an amazing number for relatively cold tires.

I've wondered how accurate the g meters are? You should be able to get much higher numbers on a nicely banked turn than on a flat parking lot.

RE11s are a very sticky tire for the street. Not your standard Bridgestone runflat that everyone puts on their widebodies. On a banked roundabout, nice warm day, on RE11s....car sticks like glue...not surprised. I've maxed out the g-meter on roundabouts plenty of times.

I'm no fortune teller but I know what's coming next.. New post " What's the best thing to use to clean vomit out of the interior." Never mind the smell, even Adams doesn't make a spray that will rid that.

I've wondered that too.

With the OEM Eagle F1 tires, I get around 1.15g on a drives through the backroads without even pushing it too hard. Yet R&T and Car and Driver specs put these cars at under .99g in their tests.

Sustaining a G is a lot different than going around a banked backroad curve for a second.

No pic of the HUD - never happened.

(Can you envision it. Pulling 1.26 in a roundabout, looking at HUD, holding cell phone to take shot, monitoring for cars in and entering the roundabout, all while sitting in the passenger seat cause the Vette seats only support .86 sustained).

Okay. No pic, but I believe you.

HUD has a recall button..he could have pushed and taken the pic after it happened.

Thats all? shhesh!

My DIC once showed 1.47 but that was probably due to slingshot effect after my car swapped ends suddenly.

My wheel alignment settings are GM specs set dead middle. The temp when I did this was 85 degrees and like LFZ states the Bridgestones are really sticky at this temperature. I use this roundabout all the time and I have hit 1.18 G's a couple of times before so this is not something that is that new to me, I just never hit it this high. Here is a video of me in my Cadillac showing you the roundabout in question. BTW there are no cars at all around me when I do this, unlike the video.

Impossible... 1.27 is as high as it reads on the C6 HUD.

Now there's a little tidbit I didn't know. New goal: Make HUD read 1.27. Going to take just the right curve with some banking I suspect.

The road tests G numbers are on a completely flat skid pad.
